On the final show of yet another string of sold-out performances along the east coast this year, last night, Lime Cordiale sent fans into a meltdown as they welcomed Idris Elba on stage at Sydney’s iconic Enmore Theatre. The British actor, writer, producer, rapper and singer-songwriter joined them for a surprise appearance on Unnecessary Things.
“Idris has been in Australia for awhile now and starting listening to our music. Following an introduction, we invited him into the studio to feature on a track. One track has now turned into many and we’ve got an exciting project in the works,” says Oli Leimbach.
“It was his idea to jump on stage last night. He killed it!” he adds.
The news comes off the back of their triple j hottest 100 haul, with an unprecedented five tracks under 26 and headline festival performances at Snack Weekender and Summer Sounds.
11 years in the making, the past year has been a watershed moment in the Leimbach brothers’ life. Their second studio album 14 Steps To A Better You landed at #1 on the ARIA album chart in July, and saw them claim the triple j feature album, J Award Australian Album of the Year and win an ARIA Award for Best Breakthrough Artist.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
