Praise for ALEX THE ASTRONAUT
“Gut-led, emotionally driven and full of goosebump-inducing magic…this debut album is a work of genius.” – NME Australia [5 stars]
“Alex Lynn has taken time to get her debut album right. I Didn’t Know shows how her lo-fi folk has filled out since the Zeitgeist pin dropper Not Worth Hiding and San Francisco is a mini epic.” – The Daily Telegraph [4 stars]
“That’s the strength of Alex The Astronaut, her ability to make you relate, to catch you with a melody as you slowly realise a little part of yourself in the lyrics you’ve been subconsciously humming.” – The Line of Best Fit
“Alexandra Lynn is so adept at writing pop songs that capture the rush of young love, friendship, confusion, sadness and all those messy situations that dominate your early 20s” – The Guardian
“Ever since Alex The Astronaut announced her project to the world back in 2016, the music-loving world have adored her story-telling lyrics, powerful delivery, and gorgeous melodies.” – Rolling Stone Australia
“Pop music is rarely this powerful, and it stamps Alex The Astronaut as a great artist…Yes, this is just the start of Alex The Astronaut’s journey. But there’s no doubt she’s going to take us to some remarkable places.” – STACK

Sydney-based singer, songwriter and storyteller ALEX THE ASTRONAUT today shares her much anticipated debut album, The Theory Of Absolutely Nothing. Of the release, Alex shares: “The Theory of Absolutely Nothing” is ten stories that try to paint a picture of what the world looked like to me when I wrote them. I wanted the dark and the light to sit next to each other. I wanted listening to it to be kind of what it would be like to fly around and watch what all different people go through in one day.”
Co-produced by Ball Park Music’s Sam Cromack and Daniel Hanson, and mixed by Victor Van Vugt (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, PJ Harvey, Beth Orton), the album was written and recorded across an 18 month period between Australia and the UK. Throughout, Alex navigates listeners on a journey of love, loss, pain and change, weaving a constellation of stories about the personal reckonings that come with growing up. The release features the uplifting ‘I Think You’re Great’ and the heart-wrenching ‘I Like To Dance’ as well as ‘Split The Sky’ and ‘Lost’, among others.
Alex also shares a new music video for album highlight ‘Caught In The Middle’ today. Directed by Tatjana Hamilton, the video sees Alex hit the tennis court with Australian music legend and The Go-Betweens’ drummer, Lindy Morrison. Watch HERE

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
