Melbourne-based drummer, singer, producer and multi-talented performer G Flip (Georgia Flipo) is so excited she didn’t sleep last night delighted to share her long-awaited debut album About Us. Premiering this week as triple j’s Feature Album, the ten-track LP is available on all platforms now via Future Classic.
G says: “When it came to putting About Us together, every song was about me and my partner’s on and off relationship; so I put them in order of how the story unfolded as a timeline if listened to from beginning to end.
‘Lover’, the opening track, works as the exposition like in a Shakespearean play, it sets up the story that follows.
Then, our story begins; From getting dumped and building resilience to excessive partying to forget her, but realising it’s not helping the situation at all. Waking up alone and the utter depths of heartbreak to making up and making the same mistakes. Being distracted by infatuation, thinking about her constantly and despite all the chaos, giving it one more go and locking it down.
‘2 Million’ closes our story with hope for the future and what is yet to come now that we are back together. Getting married, having kids, growing old until we die and all that’s left of us is our story that we left behind in my music.”.

About Us arrives after a whirlwind 18 months for Flipo who has captivated audiences both at home and overseas. Since sharing breakout single ‘About You’ to triple j Unearthed, G has toured the world multiple times, sold-out three Australian headline tours, snatched two places in 2018’s Hottest 100, taken home the AIR Award for Breakthrough Independent Artist of the Year and racked over 50 million streams.
The acclaimed performer has been championed by triple j, the Sydney Morning Herald and The Guardian, among others and has earned plaudits across the globe from Pitchfork, NPR and The LA Times for her skilful songwriting, flawless voice and impressive string of singles with boundless energy.
G Flip will play triple j’s One Night Stand in Lucindale, SA on September 14 before embarking on her biggest headline tour to date where she has now sold over 7000 tickets in support of About Us. With sold out dates in all capital cities and a third Melbourne show added this week, G Flip recently announced a series of special guests who will accompany her across the country – tour poster HERE. G will then play Spilt Milk Festival in Canberra and Ballarat before rounding out the year at the Falls Music and Arts Festival.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
