After releasing their sixth studio album New Me, Same Us earlier this year, pioneering Swedish four-piece Little Dragon are back with the FKJ remix of “Water”.

Encapsulating the feeling of returning home after a long journey, “Water” is “like a drop finally reaching the ocean” in the words of Little Dragon themselves. Back today with a reworking from French producer FKJ, his remix builds on the submerged vibe of the original, adding a sense of urgency to the laid-back groove with a deep bassline and skittering percussion framing Yukimi’s distinctive vocals. Having previously worked with the likes of Jordan Rakei, Masego and Tom Misch, FKJ pairs together with Little Dragon effortlessly, combining their distinct sounds on today’s release.

Released earlier this year on Ninja Tune and entirely self-produced and recorded at the band’s studio, New Me, Same Us is the sound of a band going back to basics and falling back in love with their instruments: drums, bass, keyboards, harp, guitar and voice, to produce some of their most focused and best music to date. Named Double J’s Feature Album, the record found widespread acclaim from the likes of the New York Times, NPR, Pitchfork, The Guardian, Mixmag, Crack Magazine and many more.

The band’s hugely popular and highly regarded live performances have spawned a decade-spanning touring career, including festival highlights such as Coachella, Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, Bestival, Sonar, All Points East, Dimensions Festival, Parklife, Lovebox, Love Saves The Day, Melt and Dour; co-headlining the Hollywood Bowl and Berkeley’s Greek Theatre with Flying Lotus supported by BADBADNOTGOOD and sold out two nights at London’s Roundhouse.

While the global pandemic has put touring on hold, the band joined NPR Music for an intimate Tiny Desk (Home) Concert filmed at their long-term home-built studio in Gothenburg, Sweden. They also recently released a new video for “Where You Belong”, an ode to their live performances and the energy of their shows, it comprises over 10 years worth of never before seen footage taken on the road, cut with a new live performance shot remotely in the band’s Gothenburg studios.

Having gone back to basics on New Me, Same Us, Little Dragon now build upon the foundations of their most authentic sound yet with a vibrant re-imagination from FKJ, lending his prolific touch for the match from your every electronic dream. Lose yourself to a fresh perspective on Little Dragon’s “Water” now.
