Canberra based electro-pop singer LIV LI has released her new single “Bloom (James Yammouni Remix)”, accompanied by a dreamy music video, premiered by The Music. The follow up to her debut track “Silhouette”, “Bloom” is an infectious taste of dazzling pop that leads the listener deeper into the fascinating soundscapes that this young talent is becoming known for.

The track, brimming with lush textures and a solemn yet catchy hook, sees LIV’s vocals soar to new heights we’ve yet to hear from her; a powerful vocalist finds her footing within it’s dazzling walls. In every sense, “Bloom” is a superb pop song with dashes of the left of centre elements which brings together a sense of wonder and mystery as the petals of the track begin to unfurl and reveal its nature.

James Yammouni has honed in on his passion for music in recent years and has amassed over a million streams on Spotify. With a fiercely loyal following on social media (500K on Instagram and over a million on Twitter), he lends a fresh glossy sheen to the already stunning track that sees a bloom in a whole new colour spectrum.

LIV LI’s voice on “Bloom” brims with confidence- but this hasn’t always been the case. As a child, she was often so crippled with nerves, that during her small town singing lesson she had to face the corner of the room (sometimes with lights switched off) to even muster a tiny whisper.

“It took me until I was twenty to say out loud, ‘I want to be a singer,” LIV says, who thankfully overcame her fears and sharing her talents with the world.

Even though LIV started her musical journey late, it has now gained strong momentum. When her friend asked her to join his band Angels are Architects in the mid-2000’s, she jumped at the chance. They won a band competition, gained a strong following through touring, and ended up in Asia headlining a festival to a mammoth crowd of 60,000 people.

LIV has spent the last year in the studio with Michael Paynter and Mike DeLorenzis from MSquared Productions creating edgy, emotional and smartly crafted songs.

LIV says, “I often write folk and acoustic material but I also love electronica, quirky pop and haunting trip-hop, and the guys worked with me to get that sound right. I felt really connected with them in the studio and it was the perfect collaboration in every sense.”
