Today Liz Stringer shares the second single ‘Dangerous’ lifted from her forthcoming sixth studio album First Time Really Feeling out Friday 30 April on Milk! Records / Remote Control Records. The track sees Stringer flex her 80’s rock muscles with hair-metal guitar solos and the driving urgency of early Tom Petty or Divinyls.

Stringer says of ‘Dangerous’, “The resilience of human beings and their ability to reinvent themselves and survive through difficulty has always been a source of inspiration and strength for me. As a touring songwriter I have the privilege of having had countless personal stories shared with me, each one of them teaching me something and broadening my understanding of the breadth of experiences and perspectives of people all around Australia and other parts of the world. Since getting sober I’ve had particularly moving conversations with people on the road about recovery and transformation. I’ve heard stories about addiction as a result of generational trauma, of mental health issues and of many other circumstances that are out of an individual’s control and the damage that can be inflicted on that person’s loved ones. I’ve heard from people who have turned their lives around against seemingly insurmountable odds and I’ve also heard from those who provided vital support during the most difficult times as well as during the recovery process. Dangerous is inspired by these stories.”

Stringer has collaborated with director Dyllan Corbett again for the ‘Dangerous’ video. Corbett says, “
I love how Dangerous throws you straight into a family’s history with little context. Untangling threads across time, we delve deeper into the worlds of each family member as they grapple with responsibility, loss and ultimate forgiveness. I wanted to keep the major conflicts offscreen, obscured by the fog of memory, but give each character the chance to find their own redemption. We built the family dynamic from pieces of each of our own experiences as well as drawing on the strong lyrics of the track. From here we would improvise and experiment, forever finding new ways to deepen their story.”

Following her recent performances on guitar and backing vocals in Midnight Oil’s Makarrata Live band nationally, Stringer has announced her First Time Really Feeling album tour dates that go on sale today. These dates are preceded by the debut of her new live band at Castlemaine State Festival on Friday 2nd April.
