Following the release of her new single ‘Warzone of the Suburbs’ and support for Tia Gostelow over the weekend, Lola Scott has today shared the stunning acoustic arrangement of the single. Accompanied by a live video, the multi-instrumentalist has also announced a show at the Museum of Contemporary Art on Wednesday 6 March and will perform as special guest for A.D.K.O.B at the Vic on the Park on Friday 15 March.
“With the acoustic arrangement, I wanted to grasp the sombre mood of the original composition by stripping the arrangement back to piano and vocals to tell the story of ‘Warzone of the Suburbs’ in a new light,” says Scott of the track.
The video, filmed at Grove Studios with close friends Richard Prohm and Lucia Capell embraces the tone and creates a soaring cacophony of sound.
Scott describes ‘Warzone of the Suburbs’ as a message to stop putting up with abuse. “I wrote it in the garage of a sketchy neighbourhood I used to live in. Inspired by my neighbours fighting (they fought a lot) ‘Warzone of the Suburbs’ is a call for them to break the silence’ and realise that their relationship is unhealthy.”
Quickly earning a reputation for her unique brand of dogmatic dark-indie pop, Scott’s live show is a spectacle of synth drenched guitar battles, raucous-dark-pop and fierce backup dancers.
‘Warzone of the Suburbs’ cultivates Scott’s early influences of The Cranberries, Björk & The Cure, with modern references Maggie Rogers, Broods and Wolf Alice, into a truly unique blend that cements Scott’s original sound. ‘Warzone of the Suburbs’ follows on from Lola Scott’s debut single ‘ Hush‘. Since it’s release the multi-instrumentalist with a degree in guitar, and a love for synth, has played Falls Festival, supported Clea and Samsaru hand played guitar and synth for Asta & The Kava Kings across Europe and Australia.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
