LORDE’S new single and video “GREEN LIGHT” out now

Today, GRAMMY® Award-winning multi-platinum chart-dominating artist LORDE returns with her new single “Green Light”.  Get it HERE via Universal Music Australia.

Produced by Lorde, Jack Antonoff and Frank Dukes, “Green Light” heralds the impending arrival of her second full-length album and follow-up to 2013’s Pure Heroine, due this winter.

The video for “Green Light”, which was directed by Grant Singer (The Weeknd, ZAYN | Taylor Swift, Phantogram) – is also available now on VEVO, watch it below.

From 7AM this morning, Lorde will join triple j Breakfast’s Ben and Liam for an exclusive chat about the new single.  She is also set to perform “Green Light” on Saturday Night Live on March 11th.

In 2013, a 16-year-old Lorde (a.k.a. New Zealand’s Ella Yelich-O’Connor) quietly yet confidently asserted herself as the voice of a generation with her full-length debut, Pure Heroine. The album would go multi-platinum around the world, win two GRAMMY® Awards, and spawn the record-breaking international juggernaut single, “Royals” and towering follow-ups “Team” and “Tennis Court”.  The former cemented Lorde as the youngest solo artist since 1987 and the only New Zealander ever to achieve #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Time exalted her amongst the “Most Influential Teenagers in the World,” she landed on Forbes’s “30 Under 30” List, graced the cover of US Rolling Stone and performed alongside Nirvana during the 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Lorde also curated the official soundtrack for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 and recorded “Yellow Flicker Beat” as the lead single.

Here in Australia, Lorde replaced Frank Ocean at the eleventh hour in a memorable performance at the 2013 Splendour in the Grass, signalling the arrival of a major new star. Pure Heroine (3 x Platinum) debuted at #1 on the ARIA Charts and delivered multiple hit singles: “Royals” (7 x Platinum), “Team” and “Tennis Court” (both 2 x Platinum). Lorde also had multiple placings in the top 10 of triple j’s Hottest 100 (including “Royals” at #2 in 2013).

“Green Light” marks the first taste of new music that will set the tone for her highly anticipated performances at major international festivals including Coachella, Governors Ball, and Bonnaroo.

“Green Light” by Lorde is out now via Universal Music Australia.
