It took just 17 minutes for Melbourne outfit LOSER to make a whopping impression on the Australian rock landscape. That 17 minutes came in the form of last year’s 5-track debut EP Restless Noise, an assured and addictive dose of 90’s grunge-infused rock. Boasting standout tracks including ‘Phase Me’, ‘Vacation’ and their thumping self-titled effort ‘Loser‘, the band earmarked themselves as a standout addition to the new wave of guitar-driven alternative rock. LOSER are now geared to make their next assault with the reveal of an infectious, slap-in-the-face new single called ‘Out Of Luck’.

Having only formed a few months prior, LOSER released Restless Noise in October 2018 to widespread praise and immediate triple j rotation support. The release was utter proof of the band’s knack for sweltering hooks and sing-along choruses, and ‘Out Of Luck’ continues that trend in fine fashion. On the genesis of the track, LOSER frontman Tim Maxwell explains that ‘Out Of Luck’ felt like the natural next output.
“We all knew ‘Out Of Luck’ needed to be out there, it’s straight forward and totally encapsulates the essence of being a Loser,” he explains. “It’s about growing up in this modern world and realising that nothing comes easy. You’re always going to find yourself in tough situations and most of the time you are going to be out of luck whether you like it or not.”
Alongside the reveal of new music, LOSER are also officially unveiling a new lineup, with the addition of two new members in Will Maxwell and Jake Farrugia.
“We are stoked to announce that two extra losers have been added to the mix,” Tim says of forming into a five-piece. “My brother Will and my brother from another mother Cutter. I have played with these two musicians endlessly for years on end and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
LOSER head to Brisbane in September for their highly anticipated BIGSOUND showcases, before joining Canadian hard-hitters Fucked Up on and east coast run of dates in October, and heading to Launceston for Luca Brasi’s Til The Wheels Fall Off Festival in November. More details and tickets below.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
