“Lucy keeps this one brooding to match the moody song title. There’s an understated drama to it that she never over-sells, focusing more on building that overcast mood.” – Dave Ruby Howe, triple j unearthed
“Shadows serves as the first taste of the singers debut EP, due out early next year, with vocal runs reminiscent of Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s Shallow.” – MILKY

Melbourne singer-songwriter Lucy Elle has today shared another brooding track from her forthcoming debut EP Silent Side of Quiet which is due for release Friday July 29.
‘Already Gone’ is a sombre reflection on the final moments of a relationship and how loneliness in a relationship can feel more shattering than being alone.

Reflecting on the single, Lucy says “Already Gone is about losing someone before you’ve really lost them. It’s about the emotional disconnect that happens before the physical. I wrote the whole thing driving home from the city one night. Things were changing a lot in my life at the time, and the people I’d once felt close to didn’t feel close anymore. The places I’d once called home felt strange and distant to me now. The clicking indicator in my car, the humming engines, and flashing red and orange traffic lights were the backdrop as I finally put into words the heartbreaking loneliness of separation. In that drive home I finally admitted to myself I was drifting away from people and places I’d thought would be forever entwined in my life.”
Her debut EP Silent Side of Quiet was recorded, produced, and mixed by Jono Steer (Ainslie Wills, Gretta Ray, Gordi and Angie McMahon), and includes previous singles ‘Shadows’ and ‘Silence’. It’s a culmination of twisted heartbreak tales, drawing on experiences from her early twenties of broken relationships and disconnect.
Lucy delivers raw and honest storytelling and evokes a sense of familiarity and relatability as she draws the listener in and unconsciously makes them reflect on their own experiences.
She fell in love with song writing at 13 listening to Brooke Fraser’s Crows & Locusts in the backseat of her Mum’s car and spent most of high school skipping classes to write songs in the empty concrete stairwell. Sitting at her out-of-tune family piano, she experimented with stories & sound.
Lucy weaves together breathy melodies over warm organic sounds, confronting the silent chasms that can open between souls.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
