“It’s always raining but the heavens only open up for so long…”
When Lydia Fairhall scheduled her new single ‘Always Raining’ to be released on March 11 she did not expect the heavens to open up on the Australian east coast in the weeks leading up to the release date.
Indie folk-pop singer-songwriter and proud Worimi woman Lydia Fairhall lives in Queensland’s Sunshine Coast hinterland and saw the impact of the rains up close, so has deemed a portion of the proceeds of this single be donated to flood victims.

‘Always Raining’ is the 4th single off Lydia’s forthcoming sophomore album, ‘The Narrows’. An overflow of blissed out and multilayered sounds, this track doesn’t shy away from the challenges of the times it was written for (2020, say no more) and is ultimately a life affirming burst of happiness and reflection.
‘Always Raining’ was penned by Lydia Fairhall and produced by Samuel Pankhurst, featuring Fairhall’s beautifully troubled vocal tones with Pankhurst on guitar/keys/synth, Ritchie Daniel (The Grates) on drums and the dulcet harmonies of Kali Blunt. The track was mixed by Jake Miller (Bjork) and mastered by Alex Wharton at Abbey Road Studios in London, released through Fairhall’s own label Restless Sky Records.
The upcoming album follows the success of her 2020 debut album ‘True North’ with The She Oaks, which saw the lead single ‘Somebody’s Daughter’ in the AMRAP regional airplay charts for 6 weeks peaking at number 1, with airplay across the ABC and community stations around Australia.
‘True North’ was selected as “Album of the Week” for the nationally syndicated Good Morning Country radio program.
Lydia was selected as one of the 2020 BigSound50, and in TheMusic’s ‘BigSound50 acts to watch’, with her songs described as “important work that demands your attention”.
Lydia is a current Sidney Myer Creative Fellow and has performed at some of Australia’s most loved festivals and venues including Melbourne Recital Centre, The Speigeltent, Brisbane Festival, Sydney Opera House, Woodford’s Bushtime festival and Brisbane Powerhouse.
“From experiencing trauma in early life to an art-filled, soulful adult life as a mother, producer, executive, singer/songwriter and custodian of ancient wisdom, Lydia is the embodiment of compassionate resilience.”

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
