After releasing music via Captured Tracks for over half of a decade, Mac DeMarco is excited to announce his own record label, distributed globally by Caroline.
“Hi, it’s Mac. We’re starting a record label; it’s called ‘Mac’s Record Label.’ My friend Jen who plays drums in The Courtneys gave me the name. Also there are more shows.”
For more information, keep an eye on the Mac’s Record Label site — www.macsrecordlabel.com.
Spunk Records and Caroline Australia previously released Mac Demarco’s first four albums, Rock and Roll Nightclub, 2, Salad Days and Another One.
Mac is also announcing his first-ever solo tour – the Purple Bobcat Next to River Tour. This follows a European and UK tour, and performances at some of the largest U.S. venues he’s ever played.
Mac has partnered with PLUS1 for his upcoming EU and solo tours. $1 from every ticket sale will go to support local Girls Rock Camps and their work empowering girls, trans and gender-diverse young people through music education and mentorship.
PLUS1 is an initiative that channels the collective energy of a concert to catalyze social change. By partnering with performing artists, PLUS1 raises and grants millions of dollars to high impact nonprofits addressing our most serious global challenges around Access, Equity, and Dignity. The work begins with a $1 per ticket add-on fundraising tool that makes fundraising simple and seamless. Visit www.plus1.org for more information.
