Colson Baker’s rapid-fire lyrical talents earned him the nickname ‘Machine Gun Kelly’ or ‘MGK’ and helped him to shoot his way to the top of the hip hop world.

Cleveland-raised MGK used rapping to get him through a hard childhood with no mother. After releasing several mix tapes starting in 2009, he experienced a meteoric rise in late 2011 when his performance at SXSW was seen by Sean Combs. MGK signed with Comb’s Bad Boy imprint that night and released the single “Wild Boy” on the label that same year. MGK’s debut album, Lace Up, landed in 2012.

In 2013, MGK released The Black Flag mixtape, featuring likes of French Montana and Wiz Khalifa. Its success saw MGK off on a world-wide international tour, including his first visit to Australia.

In 2015 he released General Admission, a dark, autobiographical LP. The album peaked at number four on the Billboard 200 and topped the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. However, the 2016 duet Bad Things” with ex-Fifth Harmony member Camila Cabello ushered in his first #1 hit on Pop radio and a Billboard Award nomination for Top Rap Collaboration, and truly cemented his name in the hip hop history books.

In 2017, MGK issued his third studio album, Bloom which swiftly went gold and has sold over 6 million copies. In addition to the #1 single “Bad Things,” the album also featured hit singles “Trap Paris” and “At My Best”.

“MGK is one of the most versatile creators around and it is an honour to watch, and be part of, his evolution as an artist. His story is like no other, his sound is so raw and intense, and his new album proves MGK is on top of his game right now.” – Sean “Diddy” Combs

In addition to his musical successes, MGK has shown his acting chops being signed to the Netflix $30 million-dollar thriller, Bird Box (currently in production). In addition to Bird Box, MGK can next be seen starring in the upcoming Rupert Wyatt-directed, big budget, sci-fi film, Captive State (2018). Rounding out a phenomenal year, Machine Gun Kelly also landed the Winter 2017-2018 John Varvatos Campaign and partnered with Reebok for their Club C sneaker campaign.

Here in Australia for the first time since 2013, don’t miss your chance to see Machine Gun Kelly delivering his lyrics from his latest album plus all his hits with the speed of a bullet.
