Alt-pop artist Mackenzie Day released her sophomore album, Girl With No Curtains, on October 7th, 2022.
Following previous singles ‘My Psychic Said,’ ‘Code: Red (7 Years),’ and ‘Spiral,’ which earned recognition in CLOUT, The Honey POP, Indie Music Women, and more, Mackenzie Day returns with her bold and unfiltered sophomore album, Girl With No Curtains. The seven-track album unravels the raw emotions of a pivotal time in Mackenzie’s life, centering on themes of transparency, mental health, and coming of age during the pandemic. Singles like ‘SCREAMING AT BRICKWALLS!!!’ experiment with darker soundscapes and resonate with a sense of being unheard, while the focus track ‘Excited For Your Twenties?’ challenges the norm that our twenties are the best years of our lives.

On the inspiration behind the album’s themes, Mackenzie says, “This album is about deconstructing my truth. If you were on the other side, in the apartment across from me, what would you see, witness, or hear? This album is about how it would feel to have a front row seat into an explosion of my life and rebuilding from the bottom all over again.”
Mackenzie Day is an emerging alt-pop singer-songwriter from San Diego, CA. Unfiltered and unapologetic, she’s an open book with a lot to say. Delivering a sound reminiscent of Miley Cyrus and Avril Lavigne, her commanding vocals and authentic lyricism sets her musical prowess apart from the rest. Not one to shy away from topics like toxic relationships, mental health, and promoting self-worth, she hopes to heal and empower others through her therapeutic songwriting process.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
