Matt Corby has today unveiled the official video for the sparkling track ‘No Ordinary Life’, the first instalment released from his upcoming second album Rainbow Valley. The ‘No Ordinary Life’ video is the first time Matt has taken us visually into his new world, showing us the hyper reality that happiness can bring to the ordinary.

The ‘No Ordinary Life’ video was directed by Matt’s close friend and VJ Ego, who is best known for his collage and projection work. The pair came up with the video’s lighting and projection concept to include isolated footage of Matt playing the individual instruments, which were then manipulated with colour and light, and projected into the garden of the Rainbow Valley property where the album was written and named.

Having produced architectural mapped projections at Sydney’s Vivid Festival and exhibition works at Hobart’s MONA FOMA, Ego says of the video,

“I wanted to create something that takes Matt into the ‘extra-ordinary’; almost beamed up and into an ether of light, colour and wonder. There is an intimate connection between him and every note that I wanted to show in one time and place.”

‘No Ordinary Life’, which has been receiving widespread acclaim, was added to Spotify’s New Music Friday in 16 countries on release and continues to grow at triple j radio in Australia and alternative radio in Germany, Netherlands and USA. 

The lush, multi-textured song and album, sparked by hints of both soul and futuristic psychedelia is produced by Dann Hume (Amy Shark, Client Liason) and engineered by Matthew Neighbour (Avalanches, Missy Higgins)

Announced last week, Matt Corby’s 15-date UK and European 2019 tour has already sold out in Oslo, Stockholm, Amsterdam and London’s O2 Forum. This will be Matt and the band’s first run of dates in 2 years with more shows to be announced soon.
