Pedestrian.tv describes Matt Stewart as “one of the most purely funny comedians in Melbourne, Matt Stewart’s trade- mark bone-dry delivery belies a brain for comedy with few rivals.” Matt has traversed the Australian comedy festival circuit over the past few months and now teakes his rollick- ing funny show Bone Dry to final pit stop of Melbourne In- ternational Comedy Festival from 28 March – 21 April. He has already performed at Perth Fringe World in February and Adelaide Fringe plus Brisbane Comedy Festival in March.

One of Australia’s sharpest comedians, Matt is well known for his wry wit as well as being a writer, actor and di- rector, and has travelled the UK with his craft. He has been writing, directing and creating comedy since 2009. Starting his career as a community TV and radio presenter, he went on to be a founding member of the Stupid Old Man sketch group and a Company Director of comedy production house Stupid Old Studios. In his role as director, Matt Stewart works alongside some of the country’s biggest names in comedy writ-ing and directing content for stage and screen. In 2017, he began popping up on screen in shows like Ronny Chieng: Internation- al Student, Comedy Up Late and Sammy J’s Democratic Party.

In 2013 he started performing stand up comedy, quickly hit- ting his stride and winning Australia’s largest open mic stand-up comedy competition, RAW Comedy, in 2014. In 2017 hecompleted sell out runs at Melbourne Fringe, Perth FringeWorld and Melbourne International Comedy Festival withhis debut solo stand up show Pretty Dry. He continued this success in 2018 with his show Dry Ginger Male with sell out shows at Fringe World, Adelaide Fringe, Brisbane Com-edy Festival and Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
