Having spent the past year crafting magic in the studio, rising artist Maz Green returns today with her breezy new single ‘Satellite’ via The Artist Studio.

Serving as her own coming of age story, ‘Satellite’ taps into the moments of loneliness and frustration that accompany the journey of adolescence. “Entering adulthood, I’ve blindly been navigating and driving through life with my eyes closed,” Maz shares. “This song is me waking up to realise that I’m not a kid anymore.”

Offering a snapshot of her life through honest songwriting, Maz’s unique and memorable voice uplifts her introspective lyrics. With a smooth, flowing rhythm built upon velvety soft-rock guitars, ‘Satellite’ reflects Maz’s indie and alt influence, reminiscent of local artists Spacey Jane, CLEWS and Eliza & The Delusionals.

Today, Maz also shares the accompanying music video directed by Robbie Walcott; a visual montage of Maz driving through her hometown, dappled in sunlight and glowing street lights. Feeling lost and disoriented in the lyrics, “I’ve lost my sense of self on the way home”, Maz tries to find her footing again as she grows out of her childhood.

Based on the Surf Coast of Regional Victoria, Maz Green first garnered attention with her debut single ‘Somewhere Else’ in 2019. Maz has emerged as one of the most exciting young artists in Australia’s vibrant indie scene for her effortless surf-rock sound and captivating vocal tone.

‘Satellite’ alongside previous single ‘Wrong Impression’ is set to appear on Maz’s upcoming EP 1996.
