Massive congrats to Alice Skye, our 2018 triple j Unearthed NIMAs winner.

Alice Skye is an incredible young artist who’s recently been turning heads with her intimate, accomplished folk music, often reflecting the calming mountain landscape of the Grampians where she grew up.

The 22 year old songwriter follows in the footsteps of previous Unearthed NIMA winners Baker Boy, Kuren, Thelma Plum and Robbie Miller to perform at this year’s National Indigenous Music Awards (NIMAs). The opportunity will see her share a stage with Kardajala Kirridarra, Busby Marou and Baker Boy in Darwin on Sat 11 Aug.

Baker Boy’s win last year kicked off a mega successful 12 months, so we’re looking forward to what’s in store for Alice Skye.

Speaking of, Alice is currently part of a special Unearthed collab with Ziggy Ramo and Trials in which they’ll create a new song from scratch in the space of a week. Hear what they come up with tomorrow on triple j Drive!
