Italy’s groove setter Babert searches across the globe to unite with Australia’s modern-day disco queen Mell Hall for a guaranteed floor filler in ‘Can’t Stop Now’, out now via Club Sweat. A soul-fulfilling affair, ‘Can’t Stop Now’ is everything you’d expect from the longest-reigning #1 female producer in ARIA Club Chart history Mell Hall, and the disco-house master Babert.  With the two producers embedded in the disco scene, the pair bring an unmatched energy to a production oozing with funk and charisma. Sampling one of the most instantly recognisable records of all time in Yazoo’s ‘Don’t Go’ with its iconic synth line, the duo serve up some contemporary disco delight, implementing underlying driving bass, and amplifying the impassioned dance-inducing vocal, ensuring this one is set to soundtrack every party on the planet.

On the collaboration, Mell Hall said, “When Babert calls, you answer! And boy I was so glad I did. Being able to work alongside the Italo-Disco-Lord exceeded all expectations and I’m so excited with what we delivered. Sampling Yazoo’s classic ‘Don’t Go’ – those killer vocals just make me ‘wanna dance – here’s hoping you do as well!”

Babert speaks to his excitement for giving one of his all-time favourite records new life, “I was born in 1982, just in the year that the ‘Don’t Go’ song was released in Italy. It was immediately an incredible success. Probably that sample influenced the formation of my entire brain. Today, being able to put my hand on it and give it back a new colour is an immense honour for me, but I couldn’t do it alone. I needed someone who ‘came in from the city’ and Mell came and ‘walked into the door’, to seal this magnificent collaboration. Now I will finally hear that magical synthesiser again in clubs around the world! And for me, it will be as magical as being a child again.”

‘Can’t Stop Now’ signals Mell Hall’s first single since breaking the record for the most consecutive weeks for a female artist at #1 on the ARIA Club Chart with her debut single ‘Knock Knock (feat. Thandi Phoenix)’. Proving to be one of the most burgeoning acts in the Australian dance scene Mell Hall spent nine weeks atop the chart, with ‘Knock Knock’. Her debut release was supported by the likes of Billboard, The Music Network, The Music, Pilerats, AAA Backstage, and Life Without Andy, while she went on to drop a funk-fuelled Friday mix for triple j. While ‘Can’t Stop Now’ is only her second single as a solo artist, she has long been admired and recognised by punters and some of the world’s best, remixing one of the biggest dance records of 2020 in ‘Energy’ from Stace Cadet and KLP, as well as stellar remixes for the likes of David Penn, Milk & Sugar, and Torren Foot. Mell and her signature disco edits have also been the go-to support for some of the world’s best touring DJs – Disclosure, Basement Jaxx, Crazy P, Norman Jay, Todd Terry, Late Nite Tuff Guy and Weiss – just to name a few.  With an undeniable energy as a DJ and producer, Mell is set to takeover the Australian dance scene for years to come.

Italian producer Mirco Berti, (a.k.a Babert) has spent two decades earning a reputation as a master of disco edits and a producer of stylish house offerings for some of the industry’s hottest and most prominent labels. With over 10 million streams across platforms on singles such as ‘Dance a Little Bit Closer’, ‘Boogie Oogie’ and ‘Fly Up to the Sky’, as well as remixes for some of the biggest global dance acts in Purple Disco Machine, Todd Terry, and Yolanda Be Cool, Babert’s application to his craft is second to none. Recognised by some of house music’s finest pioneers, Babert has become a mainstay on the Traxsource charts, with 12 releases hitting the top 10 in 2021 alone, while his 2019 remix of ‘Time After Time’ peaked at #1.

‘Can’t Stop Now’ from Babert and Mell Hall is out now via Club Sweat.
