“Tranquillity and fragility find a middle ground in Mi-kaisha’s work” – Vogue Australia
“Makes sense to hear your gorgeously rendered soul music and then read that you’re influenced by ’90s staples like Lauryn Hill and India Arie.” – Dave Ruby Howe
“Beautiful. I love the way you dip into that rnb/soul and pop space. Elegant, thoughtful and has this brightness about it.” – Claire Mooney
“Mi-Kaisha’s voice is just like silk” – Tyrone Pryor

Mi-kaisha returns with ‘Lean On You’ — a luminous, gospel-infused R&B track that pays heartfelt tribute to the people who’ve shown up through every season, out now via AWAL.

Produced by Billy Davis (Wafia, Jessica Mauboy, 3%, Ruel, Noname, Anderson .Paak), the single blends soaring vocals with lush, melodic production — marking an exciting new chapter in Mi-kaisha’s sound.
Mi-kaisha comments, “I wrote Lean On You while living in NYC away from family, my community & ultimately everything familiar to me. This song was a dedication to the people in my life who had sacrificed so much for me, who had brought so much joy into my life and ultimately who I knew I could always lean on.”
Her previous single ‘Edge of Surrender’ premiered on triple j’s Home & Hosed and was added across a host of major playlists — Spotify’s EQUAL AU/NZ, New Music Friday AU/NZ, Pop’n’Fresh, Original Storytellers, Hits Different, and Apple’s New in R&B. It received national airplay on Nova’s Aus Music Show with Maddy Rowe, FBi Radio, 2SER (Tune of the Week), RRR, 4ZZZ, RTR FM, Soul Ctrl, and Unearthed.
On stage, she continues to captivate. She has an upcoming performance as part of Cooee Festival on May 24 and a headline show at Bondi Pavillion on Saturday July 5. Recently, Mi-kaisha performed live at the NRL Indigenous Allstars halftime show to a crowd of over 21,000. Last year, she joined 3% for their triple j Like A Version and performed alongside 3%, Jessica Mauboy & Julian Hamilton at the ARIA Awards.
In the media spotlight, Mi-kaisha has appeared across Women in Pop, Vogue Australia, MamaMia, NITV News, Fashion Critical, Daily Mail Australia, and NIT Style. She’s performed at Sydney’s inaugural SXSW and flown the flag for First Nations excellence at G’Day USA in Los Angeles — sharing the bill with artists like Delta Goodrem, The Kid Laroi, G Flip, Katy Perry, and Morgan Evans.
A proud Darumbal and Tongan woman, Mi-kaisha made history as the first Aboriginal student accepted into NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music. Her voice and pen have also featured on Barkaa’s ‘Come Back’ and Nooky’s ‘We Are Warriors’, further cementing her status as a defining voice in the next wave of Australian R&B and soul.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
