Praise for MOANING LISA:
“Moaning Lisa are so fkn back!! So are the beautiful harmonies, the gorg songwriting, and the heartwrenching lyrics. What a massive treat” Luka Muller, triple j (4.5 stars, ‘wayside’)
“Everything about this song – from the lyricism to the guitars to the vocals – just soars.” Abby Butler, triple j (4 stars, ‘wayside’)
“Can feel the heaviness in emotion you’ve poured into this one amongst the sweet touch we hear from Charlie’s beautiful voice. This one grows on every listen and we’re so happy to have Moaning Lisa back!” Claire Mooney, triple j / Unearthed (4 Stars – ‘fainter’)

Moaning Lisa are thrilled to share their new single ‘4am (where have you been?)’ today, alongside the announcement of their long awaited sophomore album fainter, which is set for release on November 22 via Farmer & The Owl/BMG.
The Naarm/Melbourne based four-piece have spent the last couple of years diligently crafting and recording their next body of work, and also refining and testing the songs during their live shows, including on support slots for Ride, Midnight Oil and Sly Withers.
They began sharing the first cuts from the new album, fainter, from April onwards this year, with singles ‘fainter’ and ‘wayside’ being met with great praise and enthusiasm from their fanbase, alongside media support including spins on triple j, community radio, and additions to playlists such as Loca Noise on Spotify, New in Indie and Breaking Rock on Apple Music.
‘4am (where have you been?)’, marks the third offering of the band’s upcoming album, and is a sardonic look at paranoia in relationships in the form of an upbeat indie rock song. Heavily inspired by pettiness, insecurity and indie sleaze, the track’s snarky-toned vocal melody helps deliver an uncomfortable topic with levity.
Lead singer Charlie shares that “it’s an embarrassing thing to admit, let alone write a song about. No one wants to feel like their partner is lying to them or sneaking around, no one wants to be the clueless idiot waiting up at home. As a songwriter though, I’m a glutton for punishment and excavating my deepest, darkest feelings so of course this experience was no exception. But I knew that if I was gonna do it, I was gonna have fun with it.”
The lyrics start by describing a night out and getting kicked out of a venue after an altercation with a security guard. Charlie explains “that did actually happen, I got into a fight with a security guard who was being transphobic to a friend of mine but I didn’t get kicked out. Probably because it was a sold out Moaning Lisa show lol.”
The new single release also comes with the news of the forthcoming release of their second album, ‘fainter’, a collection of songs that mark Moaning Lisa’s most diverse, intricate and enthralling work to date.
Also announced today, a hometown album launch show on Friday 22nd of November at Shotkickers. Tickets on sale now.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
