Just in time for pride month, embrace your wildest desires with “Only Way”, out on 3rd March; the kitschy, gay anthem is the latest single from the northern beaches pop duo. With its upbeat tempo and catchy lyrics, this song is the perfect summer anthem for anyone looking to let go and have some fun.
Monatomic comprises Steffan Lazar and Taryn Webster, childhood friends who grew up in Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Drastically varying in personal music tastes from electro-rock to shiny pop, the duo comes together to create something truly unique.

“Only Way was made one night when we were having falafels in our rehearsal studio in a makeshift doona vocal booth; we just wanted to have fun and let loose. Some sexy inspo from the iconic ‘A Little Bit Alexis’ – Schitts Creek (huge fans of that show) – and we were onto a winner! Interestingly it’s become our “coming out” song. We both realised that we had to be authentic and true to ourselves. Taryn working through her gender affirmation, and me (Steffan) being open about being gay. Enjoy our kitschy, gay and empowering anthem full of not so subtle metaphors. Alexis would be proud.”
In 2020 their distinctive sound got the attention of the multi-billion streaming artist Tones and I for her “That One Song” competition which Monatomic took home the top prize. Monatomic’s songs have received airplay across a variety of Triple J slots (Breakfast, House Party, Home and Hosed), Triple J Unearthed TOPS, FBi radio, commercial rotation on HIT, and KIIS. They’ve been featured by Ash London and Mitch Churi and on Season 2 of the TV show Itch (BBC/ABC).

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.

I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
