‘THEY’RE PLAYING MY SONG’
“This band are honing on their sound with every release. This track’s laden with this big pop drama – think the likes of Art vs Science, Foster The People”. – Dave Ruby Howe – triple j (AUS)
“Could easily draw comparisons to the glitchy funk sounds of Daft Punk or some of LCD Soundsystem’s more upbeat numbers”. – Pilerats (AUS)
“Watch out you’ll be nominated for a logie with this much drama”. – Declan Byrne – triple j (AUS)

Following on from their critically praised single ‘They’re Playing My Song’, Sydney-based electro-pop duo MONATOMIC have returned with bittersweet pop-banger ‘One More Chance’ – produced and recorded by the band at their home studio.
‘One More Chance’ showcases MONATOMIC at their power-pop best, mixing beautifully plucked acoustic guitars and swirling soundscape synths. This breaks into a vast upbeat chorus topped off by the heart-breaking angelic vocals from lead singer Steffan Lazar.
Lazar talks about the meaning behind ‘One More Chance’: “It’s that hope (or false hope), that you might be able to return to how things were with someone you loved. It’s being stuck in the past with rose tinted glasses while forgetting why you had broken up in the first place. Being in that place can fuel obsession, but it’s not healthy and it won’t ever be the same again. I’ve felt it, I’m sure everyone who has loved and lost has gone through it. However, even if I was given that one last chance, let’s be honest, I probably would’ve fucked it up”.
Previous single ‘They’re Playing My Song’ was supported by triple j and triple j Unearthed, with tastemaker support from Disco Naïveté (BEL), Pilerats, Savage Thrills and Little Indie Blogs(UK). To coincide with the release, the band will perform at a launch party at The Lord Gladstone with AKA Lui in Sydney.
Lazar and fellow band member, Tarran Webster, are childhood friends who grew up on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. The group have written and recorded songs around the world, from the sunny Byron Hinterlands, Australia to the winter land of Northern Ontario, Canada and the starry Hollywood Hills in the United States.
MONATOMIC have also performed their music live in their pyjamas for Woody Harrelson.
In the coming weeks MONATOMIC will reveal an accompanying music video for ‘One More Chance’.

Hayden James
Between Us Feat Panama
One of those tracks that hooked us in from the very start. Before your brain has time to process a single word of Jarrah McCleary’s lyrics, you’re already mesmerised by a vocal tone sorrowful enough to bring a tear to your eye. His voice almost sounds like a male version of London Grammar’s Hannah Reid (now there’s a collaboration we’d like to hear).

Running Touch
Make Your Move
As usual with Running Touch, the production is stellar and on point. This track fits in absolutely everywhere whether you’re at the club or in morning peak hour.

Ashley O
On A Roll
Ok, just bear with us for a second. Ashley O (AKA Miley Cyrus) might possess all the frustratingly generic traits of a manufactured teen pop idol; however, this time their manufactured by the addictively dark sci-fi show Black Mirror. Trust us, just watch Miley’s episode and you’ll be bobbing along to this one in no time.

Safia
Think We’re Not Alone
If you’ve ever wondered what paranoia feels like, then look no further. Now that might not sound pleasant, but this track is a great example of how it can be enjoyable for both artists and listeners to explore some darker themes, enjoyable… and frightening.

Lime Cordiale
Inappropriate Behaviour
We‘vebeen slow with Lime Cordiale but there last few tracks have made us fall totally in love with them. We recently saw them live, and honestly, they are one of those few bands who somehow are evenBETTER on the stage than they are in the studio. That’s super rare, and impressive. Fantastic performers and melodic tunes. Love this catchy track.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
