Recording the track in her bedroom wardrobe, ‘Tag ur it’ plays on a child-like nostalgia revealing a twisted spin on Nursery Rhymes and Fairytales, being a dark lullaby you wouldn’t play before you go to sleep. Monica’s lyricism is powerfully intriguing exposing the never ending maze of  anxiety and the unforgiving cycle of forever running from yourself. Told from the perspective of the ‘Monsters Inside Your Head’, ‘Tag ur it’  makes reference to popular children’s games: Tag, Hide and Seek, Tales of Little Red Riding Hood and the Nursery Rhyme of Ring Around The Rosie. Chilling lyrics, off kilter sounds (e.g. church bells, wind up toys ) combined with catchy rhythms and colorful melodies it’ll be sure to chase you until you’re it.

About MONICA CASACELI

Beginning her artist journey performing on the streets in the heart of Bayside, Monica has cemented her place in the music scene through her live performances and social media presence. Writing songs since she was just twelve years old Monica has grown into her skin as an artist, proving she is one to watch. From busking, to playing in Bars in the CBD, booking her own shows and playing  Festivals such as St Kilda Festival Monica’s vocals are the highlight of her music. 

Since the release of her first single ‘rain’ Monica has transitioned from a Pop/Folk acoustic artist into Dark/Electro Pop Experimental artist embellishing her music with influence from Melanie Martinez, Billie Eilish, Lorde and Jessie Murph. Now blurring the lines between Acoustic and Electronic Music performing with an Acoustic Guitar  and Ableton Live to enhance her live sets Monica’s live sets need to be seen to be believed.
