2021 Eurovision contestant and ARIA Award-winning art-pop songwriter Montaigne has released the official music video for her single, ‘Technicolour’.

The video comes ahead of her performance of the uplifting anthem as part of the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest, to be held in Rotterdam in the Netherlands, which is broadcast exclusively on SBS in Australia from 19 to 23 May.

Directed by Courtney Brooks, the video is an explosion of colour and dance that perfectly complements the hyper pop banger.

Montaigne said: This was the quickest and easiest music video shoot I have ever been a part of, and yet it’s not suffered for it. It’s absolutely gorgeous! Courtney and the team absolutely hauled ass and fully understood the vibe I was trying to encapsulate and I think it’s come off to great effect. One of my favourite things I’ve done to date.”

Written and produced specifically for Eurovision, ‘Technicolour’ is a new song highlighting Montaigne’s vocal prowess, with upbeat pop stylings and a catchy anthemic feel. Montaigne co-wrote the song alongside Sydney-based songwriter and producer, Dave Hammer (Lime Cordiale, Thundamentals).

It’s not long until Montaigne reveals her live performance of the track in the 65th Eurovision Song Contest. The contest will be broadcast live and in primetime exclusively on SBS and SBS On Demand from 19 to 23 May. Montaigne will be competing from home, via her ‘live-on-tape’ performance of ‘Technicolour’.

Montaigne will compete in Semi Final 1 against 15 countries. With early morning LIVE broadcasts of Semi Final 1, Semi Final 2 and the Grand Final for immediate results and voting along with Europe, and primetime broadcasts for fabulous Euro-themed parties around the country, there are plenty of opportunities to get behind Montaigne and join in the fun of picking favourites from the 39 competing nations, each bringing a taste of their own musical culture to the contest.

The other 50% of the vote is decided by a National Jury in each participating country. Australia’s jury will be announced soon. The jury and Australian public can vote for any country except Australia.

For Australian viewers, this means they will need to tune into the LIVE broadcast of Semi Final 1 on Wednesday May 19 at 5am (AEST) and the Grand Final on Sunday 23 May at 5am (AEST) by texting the numbers that appear on screen during the live broadcasts.
