Following the release of singles “Ruby” and “The Song of The Masochist”, award-winning musician, writer and performer Tim Minchin today releases his latest track “I Wouldn’t Like You”, the third single from his forthcoming album TimMinchinTimeMachine, arriving 25 July via BMG.
“I Wouldn’t Like You” begins as a tender piano ballad, gently unfolding with Minchin’s signature lyrical wit and emotional nuance, before gradually building into a more guitar-driven, alt-rock finish. At its heart, the track is a wry and quietly romantic ode to loving someone exactly as they are, quirks, contradictions and all. With lines like “I wouldn’t like you if you weren’t like you,” Minchin delivers a love song that’s both offbeat and sincere, playfully rejecting perfection in favour of authenticity. It’s equal parts dry humour and heartfelt truth, wrapped in a deceptively simple melody that swells with feeling as the track evolves. Listen and watch the official music video HERE.

Tim Minchin said: “Of all the tunes on this record that have been reinvented, this one has had the most successful vibe update. I always thought this was a keeper, but now with Evan’s loping groove, and the pure undeniable jank of Jak’s guitar in the chorus… I love it.”
The track adds a new layer to the growing portrait painted by TimMinchinTimeMachine, a curated anthology of previously unreleased material. This collection of 11 songs offers a glimpse into the mind of the songwriter Tim was before global acclaim, showcasing a raw, witty, and deeply human side of his artistry.
The album follows Minchin’s critically acclaimed 2020 studio debut Apart Together, which earned four stars from The Independent, hailed as “a tenderly considered pop album that subverts expectations.” Pre-order TimMinchinTimeMachine HERE.
In parallel with the album rollout, Minchin kicked off his brand-new live tour, Songs The World Will Never Hear, last night at Soho Theatre Walthamstow. The UK run continues through over 20 cities, including a trio of sold-out shows at London’s Eventim Apollo from 4–6 July, before heading home to Australia where Minchin will perform shows in Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Canberra, Perth, Newcastle, Sydney, Gold Coast and Toowoomba throughout October, November and December 2025. Remaining tickets are on sale now at TimMinchin.com.
Audiences can expect an evening packed with unforgettable songs and stories, as Minchin looks back on how a Perth cabaret pianist ended up building one of the most eclectic and extraordinary careers in entertainment. Delivered with signature blend of razor-sharp wit, musical virtuosity, and disarming honesty, the set list will draw from three decades of unique songwriting.
Following the success of Apart Together and his acclaimed live performances across the UK and Australia, TimMinchinTimeMachine signals a new chapter in Minchin’s musical journey, one that looks both backwards and forwards, capturing the beauty, complexity and absurdity of life through song.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
