21 year old New Zealand artist Muroki shares his brand new single ‘Introducing’ via Olive Records / Universal Music. The release follows a recent visit to Australia where Muroki played a run of headline shows and supported kiwi star BENEE, winning over fans with his charm and bop worthy beats.
‘Introducing’ stirs up the melting pot of Muroki’s musical influences with a strong reggae flavour beneath the sly vocal hooks that re becoming his trademark. The track captures the spirit of being a young musician in a coastal surf town when his teenage band were first bringing up their new sound to the Raglan scene.
“It’s a song that’s just about how exciting it was to dream about my music connecting with people back then and now how that dream can come true,” he says, recalling the feeling of the town buzzing in anticipation of a big night out.
“Making the video for Introducing was a fun way to capture a few styles of music around the world that heavily influenced my sound — guitar skanks from Jamaica, congas from Cuba, all the way to lyrical flows and samples from the US. It all combines into one final jam scene in a Kenyan desert where I can showcase myself and my music.”
New Zealand fans are treated to a mini-NZ ‘Introducing’ tour in Wellington, Raglan and Auckland this month. For tickets and more information please visit: HERE. Muroki says Aussies will soon hear about local dates to catch him at one of his electric live shows.
The Kenyan kiwi has quickly gained a rep for his smooth, roots based sound inspired by his Raglan world of skating pavements and riding waves. Breakout hit ‘Wavy’ topped the NZ charts and the breezy soul-pop jam ‘Surfin’ became a Triple J playlist fave and was nominated by GQ as the single “soundtrack of Summer”.
Muroki’s vocals catch your undivided attention, his voice a hypnotic instrument effortlessly caressing melodies to melt even the toughest of us. Release after release, Muroki continues to show us that he is someone you don’t want to be late on. He is set to take your heart.… if he hasn’t already.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
