On may 14th, Leaving Lennox, consisting of Lauren Valatiadis & Mick Hambly were awarded an artist grant under the Australia Council for the Arts 2020 Resilience fund. The Australia Council for the Arts is the official funding body of the Australian Government and its grant programs are highly competitive (success rates do not exceed 15%-20%). The $5 million fund was established to support the livelihoods and sustain the practice of selected creatives during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In other news, the duo have recently signed a management and booking deal with Periscope Music Group. Periscope, founded by Jake Crownover, who has worked with legendary acts including The Rolling stones, The Beatles, Beyonce and Kiss, established the company 7 years ago. Previous to this, Crownover worked as a director of sales for Texas based company All Access Today, alongside Matchbox 20.

Leaving Lennox, comprised of Mick Hambly & Lauren Val, are an Acoustic-pop duo, originally from Sydney Australia. The pair made their way to Nashville Tennessee in April of 2019, where they have written and recorded music, along with playing a magnitude of shows in Nashville and surrounds.

Although this global pandemic has halted the duos 2020 plans, they have been working on creating new music, content and growing their online presence during this time of uncertainty. Leaving Lennox are eager to pick up where they left off, while continuing to work alongside Periscope Music Group in order to expand across the United States.

The couple have been spending their quarantine in Nashville TN, where they currently reside. Over the past few months, the pair have been performing Facebook live shows for their international audience. (Saturday from 8 pm US CT)

Their latest singles, Weren’t Looking For and Old Love were released in mid to late 2019 and have over 120K streams on Spotify alone. Both singles feature Aaron Sterling on the drums, who is the live drummer for John Mayer.
