Keep those good time summer vibes going with new disco banger, What You Do, from award-winning Gold Coast indie-pop artist, DENNIS. ft. Professor Paul, dropping on Friday, 19 February.
With DENNIS.’ ‘interstellar, angelic and bitey’ vocals (Nkechi Anele, Triple J), funky production by MDWS, and an epic freestyle by Brisbane verse-spitter, Professor Paul, What You Do is a track that will make you feel more than alright from the first beat.
“After the year we’ve all had, I just wanted to write something that was lighthearted and made people feel good, let loose and forget their problems for a few minutes,” said DENNIS.
“What You Do is about getting lost in someone or something so much that it almost seems make-believe. You know that nothing will necessarily come of it, but it feels too good to shake yourself back to reality. So, why not?”
After taking out the inaugural Gold Coast Music Prize at the Gold Coast Music Awards last year, as well hitting one million streams on her most recent collab, Run Little House, DENNIS. has spent 2020 writing new bops and ramping up her live show.
“I’ve actually taken up rock climbing this year so I can keep up with the new tracks that are screaming for a big crowd and a packed dance floor. I hope people are ready for some super high energy, because I’ll be bringing it!”
Standing out from the indie-pop field with her surprising collaborations, fresh approach and ability to keep us guessing, DENNIS. is establishing herself as one to watch in 2021.

Award-winning singer-songwriter, DENNIS., combines her love for swaggering grooves, relatable melodies and angelic yet bitey vocals, inviting listeners into an electronic indie-pop party none of us want to miss.
DENNIS.’ collaborative nature has seen her pair up with local and international producers Jarryd Shuker, MDWS and Blake Malone, in return enabling DENNIS. to accomplish a sound that is truly her own, reminiscent of crowd pleasers, Wafia, Owl Eyes and Broods.
Since her debut, DENNIS. has hit the ground running, taking out the coveted inaugural Gold Coast Music Prize at the 2020 Gold Coast Music Awards; ‘channeling that big budget Nordic energy’ (Tommy Faith, Triple J) with her previous singles; and spending time in Nashville on a scholarship working with world renowned producer/songwriter Trey Bruce.
