Rock Your Little Heart Out, is an original song, written by Andrew Higgs (King Of The North), as a tribute to Malcolm Young of AC/DC. All proceeds of the custom designed T-Shirt, go to the Dementia Australia Research Foundation.
“I was reading the local paper when Malcolm sadly passed away and their idea of a tribute (to the greatest rhythm guitarist of all time) was a tiny pic in the bottom left corner of the front page calling him a bass player! I said to myself, that is not a tribute, I’ll create my own, make it the biggest production I can and give it all to charity! So I called up Slatts (King Parrot bass player), Jake (Clowns drummer) and Roadsy (ex- Airbourne guitarist) and said, let’s rock!” – Andrew Higgs
Rock Your Little Heart Out was recorded at the famous Hothouse studios, housing the desk AC/DC originally recorded their ‘Dirty Deeds’ album on. The film clip for the song was shot at The Forum Melbourne, in front of stacks of Marshall’s, a full on light show and amazing camera work by Farmwalker Films.
Shannon Trottman created the artwork of the exploding guitar headstock for the single cover and T-shirt design. The T-shirt is another fundraising tool for the project, everyone purchasing the T-shirt is helping to fund research to fight dementia.
The first live performance of the single will be at The 2018 Reclink Community Cup at Victoria Park Melbourne, on June 24, in front of 12,000 people – can’t wait to share this with the people!
.
The Band behind the recording are: Andrew Higgs – Vocals/ Lead Guitar, David Roads – Rhythm Guitar/ BV’s, Slatts Everyday – Bass/ BV’s, Jake Laderman – Drums.
