Beloved UK singer-songwriter Newton Faulkner is back with his first taste of new music in five years, today releasing ‘Hunting Season (feat. Lissie & Los Bitchos)’, the lead single from his forthcoming album OCTOPUS, set for release on 27 March 2026 via Cooking Vinyl Records.
Written and recorded in Faulkner’s East London home studio, Hunting Season is a bold and joyful collaboration that brings together three creative powerhouses: Newton himself, US indie-folk favourite Lissie, and psych-surf innovators Los Bitchos.
The song first took shape as a co-write with Dutch producer and songwriter Tessa Rose Jackson, before Newton reimagined it with the help of Los Bitchos drummer and old bandmate Nic Crawshaw. A chance studio session with guitarist Serra Petale soon pushed the track into thrilling new territory.
“Serra came to my studio mid-morning, and by mid-afternoon this version was up and running,” Newton says. “As soon as she started playing, I knew I wanted her to replace all of my guitars. She straight-up smashed it.”
Adding another layer is the unmistakable voice of Lissie, a longtime friend and collaborator. “We’ve done loads of gigs and radio stuff together, and I’ve always been a huge fan of her voice,” Faulkner says. “I just had to hope she’d say yes. Which she did — and then smashed it out of the park.”

The release marks the beginning of a fresh new chapter for Newton, who last year cut off his iconic ginger dreadlocks live on stage at London’s Islington Assembly Hall to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust and symbolically stepping into a new era of creativity both visually and musically.
Thenew album ‘OCTOPUS , set for release on March 27, represents the longest gap between albums in Faulkner’s career, providing him time to explore new creative directions. Working from his home studio in East London, Faulkner approached songwriting from fresh perspectives, incorporating diverse sonic elements throughout the album.
Although only just turning 40, Faulkner’s impressive career spans nearly two decades, beginning with his breakthrough debut album “Hand Built by Robots” (2007), which reached #1 in the UK charts and achieved double-platinum status. His success continued with “Rebuilt by Humans” (2009) peaking at #3 and earning Gold certification, followed by his second UK #1 album “Write It on Your Skin” (2012). His subsequent releases include “Studio Zoo” (2013), “Human Love” (2015), “Hit the Ground Running” (2017), and “Interference (Of Light)” (2021), which was released during the challenging conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Faulkner’s ready to share that new music and energy with fans around the world and is especially excited to bring it back to Australia.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
