Following a run of three sold-out headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne, Papua New Guinea born now Sydney-based singer-songwriter Ngaiire, caps off a huge year by announcing her 2020 Take Over Tour visiting Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney with accompanying festival appearances in Perth and Adelaide.
Looking back on 2019, December 27 will see Ngaiire perform within the scenic surrounds of Woodford Folk Festival in Queensland, before travelling to Perth Festival on February 9. Ngaiire next plays at Mardi Gras Festival’s beloved landmark event Fair Day on February 16, prior to a slot at premier international arts festival WOMADelaide in Adelaide in March. Ngaiire will follow her festival run, with a live tour returning to Melbourne’s Corner Hotel on March 14, Brisbane’s The Brightside on March 20, before wrapping at Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory on March 21.
In October, Ngaiire released her first taste of new music with “Shiver”, which had previously been shortlisted for the Vanda and Young Global Songwriting Competition before it had even entered the world. Premiered via Billboard, the single saw Ngaiire explore her Papua New Guinean roots, tackling head-on the light and dark of life, death and the spirit world. The track has since been added at triple jand community radio, appeared on Spotify’s New Music Friday, Apple Music’s New Music Daily playlists and adored by fans the world over.
Hailing from the Eastern Highlands and New Ireland provinces of Papua New Guinea, Ngaiire has built a musical identity that effortlessly crosses genre and art form. Having become renowned for her impressive vocal force, tight beats, incredible costuming and big pop sounds, Ngaiire has acquired countless accolades including four National Live Music Awards, an FBi Radio SMAC Award for Best Live Act and the inaugural Australian Women in Music Award for Artistic Excellence.
A breathtaking performer, Ngaiire has graced the world’s most renowned stages, from Splendour in the Grass all the way to Glastonbury. Consistently in the company of greatness, she has toured alongside the likes of Sufjan Stevens, Alicia Keys and Leon Bridges, as well as composing for dance companies and showcasing her work at experimental art spaces.
As 2020 nears, don’t miss being one of the first to follow Ngaiire’s journey as she returns to the live arena nationally.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
