Ninajirachi finally reveals her debut album, I Love My Computer via NLV Records.

Built on the unimaginable worlds that defy boundaries in dance music categories, I Love My Computer grounds itself between reality and vivid imagination where virtual limits don’t exist. “I’ve spent more time with my computer than any one person, it helped me realise who I am and raised me for better or worse. I may never have discovered electronic music without it, because I’m from a small town in regional Australia, and it’s not really a place where that exists. It’s a big contrast actually” she shares. “All of my music is computer music, it’s my instrument, and I don’t know who I would be without it.”

A showcase of Ninajirachi’s attunement to the contemporary electronic landscape, I Love My Computer marks a new shape for EDM on a global level. Moving vicariously through dance, pop and electro, Ninajirachi honours that formative, shiny 2010s music that raised her and reassembles it into a supercharged sound, and not once across the record does the momentum fade. With earlier singles ‘All I Am’, ‘Fuck My Computer’, ‘iPod Touch’ and most recently ‘Infohazard’ an insight into her craft and sonic world-building, today we’re introduced to 8 new tracks that continue to form new heights entrenched in deeply nostalgic tributes. 

‘London Song’ sets the album in motion, detailing a sense of gratitude for the opportunities computer music has brought her. On ‘CSIRAC’ Ninajirachi muses on Australia’s first digital computer, and focus track ‘Delete’ looks at social media psychology and the ‘modern mega digital meta mating ritual’. Lyrically, the track explores the strategy of posting in the hope that particular person see it – ‘I chose a song you like in case you saw it / When I posted it that’s all I wanted / I’m on show on that phone in your pocket / I’ll delete it / Once you’ve seen it’, of which Ninajirachi reveals “There was this text post that said ‘I be like “me and who” knowing exactly tf who ur my target. I first wrote the verses as vocal gibberish over some piano chords in late 2019, the same night I wrote ‘Alight’. Earlier this year I unearthed it and realised it was thematically perfect for I Love My Computer.”

Highlighting her adventurous range, tracks including the emotionally charged ‘Battery Death’, the ambient diary entry ‘Sing Good’ and ‘It’s You’ with internet star daine hail a more dance-pop format. As the only official collaboration on the album, ‘It’s You’ with daine was crafted in late 2023, with Ninajirachi sharing, “Originally I wanted I Love My Computer to be just Ninajirachi music with no collabs or features, but this song with daine just worked too well. Darcy Baylis helped us round it out earlier this year by adding the guitar verse parts which was like a perfect crossover episode. Darcy and I started ‘Infohazard’ at Daine’s writing camp in 2024 so everything is in the family and it feels amazing that way.” Elsewhere, ‘ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ’ (Cat Interlude) marks a high-energy portal to ‘All I Am’ and album closer ‘All At Once’ hones in on the record’s theme that is limitless creative freedom with a clear vision.

Amongst scores of career highlights, from headlining shows across three continents to her co-headline tour with umru and Australian tour with Porter Robinson, Ninajirachi has picked up support across Billboard, Rolling Stone, triple j, Mixmag, Beatportal and more, featuring on round-ups from Anthony Fantano for her “very witty, catchy, dancey, clever, skillful production” and Derrick Gee who praised her as “electronic dance music’s best kept secret”, alongside placements as Spotify’s EQUAL ambassador, her debut ARIA Chart placement for ‘All I Am’ and more. 

Having ticked off three iterations of her flagship club event Dark Crystal – with the fourth edition taking place this month featuring umru and MGNA Crrrta – she’s appeared at festivals including Laneway Festival, Lollapalooza, EDC, Beyond The Valley, Dark Mofo and sold out headline shows on both sides of the Pacific Ocean. Confident and assured, the album is reflective of her position as one of the most innovative and distinctive emerging producers with her feet firmly planted in the international music landscape.
