Following on from releasing their standout singles ‘Is It Too Late’ and ‘Wake Up’, Yamba-based indie-electronic duo Nocturnal Tapes deliver debut EP ‘Visions IV’ – recorded and produced by the duo themselves at their home studio and mixed by Adrian Breakspear (Gang of Youths, CosmosMidnight, Kučka).

Combining themes of dance, experimental-electronica, tech-house, psychedelia and indie-rock, ‘Visions IV’ demonstrates the group’s ability to meld an array of eclectic influences, whilst still retaining a cohesive and unique sound. Organic and electronic instrumentation is equally balanced and the production is delivered with utmost finesse.

Front man Harry Suttor describes the writing and recording process behind ‘Visions IV’:

.

“We spent the winter at our Yamba home studio writing and recording ‘Visions IV’. The songs subtly discuss how we are forced by reality to live along the arrow of time. Through the records themes, there is an underlying yearning for the fourth dimension, where we could move through time in a linear fashion and explore the possibilities of life without the pressure of deadline and regret. This is where the title Visions IV comes from, however just as these songs have been written in a relatable way, the title also has a more literal meaning; the songs are our first visions for Nocturnal Tapes”.

.

Since their 2016 inception, Nocturnal Tapes have released a slew of tracks strongly embraced by the likes of triple j, Spotify, MTV, ABC’s Rage, community radio and worldwide blogs; which resulted in a #6 position on the esteemed Hype Machine Now charts.

They’ve traversed the country multiple times sharing stages with Boo Seeka, Bootleg Rascal and Tash Sultana, and performed at boutique festivals Mountain Sounds, Sweaty Palms, House of Voodoo and UTS Summerfest and Winterfest.

Nocturnal Tapes were recently announced as the national support for Luke Million’s national tour in September alongside rising star Mookhi, which includes shows in Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth, Sydney and Melbourne.

‘Visions IV’ is available now via Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes and all other good digital retailers
