This April, North London pop provocateur girli, will light up Australia’s East Coast with three electrifying performances in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne. The tour is in celebration of her forthcoming album, Matriarchy, out May 17, and self-described as her most ‘reflective’ and ‘vulnerable’ body of work to date.
Live, girli is a commanding force who seamlessly blends ferocity, energy, and passion with the melodic charm of pop at its peak. With each show, girli demands attention, inviting the audience into a realm where her words form a powerful anthem for individuality, empowerment, and unapologetic self-expression.
Speaking on her forthcoming album, girli says, “I chose Matriarchy as the album title because that word means so many things to me. The matriarchy of being a queer woman in love with another, the matriarchy of being my own queen who governs my life (or queendom), and a commentary on taking back power.” From her breakthrough seven years ago with a host of edgy pop-gems, girli has transitioned from being combative in her lyrics to utilising songwriting as a therapeutic process. She elaborates, “Now, writing songs is like therapy for me – it’s about processing things I’ve gone through and how they’ve shaped me as a person.”
With a growing discography, girli’s music has become an inspiring part of the everyday lives of fans worldwide, with her global audience eagerly awaiting her most revealing era yet with the release of Matriarchy. Songs like the title track ‘Matriarchy‘, ‘Nothing Hurts Like a Girl’ and ‘Be With Me’ are already standout features of her dynamic live show, as she allows fans a glimpse into this new and exciting chapter. In her own words, “With this album, I’m revealing more of myself than ever before, and that’s an incredibly exciting feeling.”
Joining girli on the tour is Brisbane duo Juno. Comprising Kahlia Ferguson and Sam Woods, Juno exploded onto the scene with pop anthems like ‘come thru’, ‘nobody loves you when you’re down’, ‘make it so easy’ and ‘sunburn’, earning them a spot on Triple J Unearthed Rotation and a stint as Unearthed Spotlight Artist. Juno has supported a lineup of impressive artists including Caity Baser, Peking Duk, Pacific Avenue and Chloe Dadd to name a few.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
