Singles Chartifacts:
#1: Tones And I ‘Dance Monkey’ – Spending its 15th week in the top spot, ‘Dance Monkey’ by Tones and I equals the record for most weeks at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart, tying the record set by Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape Of You’ in 2017. It is the first time an Australian has held this record since 1983, the year the ARIA Charts began.
Meanwhile, the singer-songwriter’s single ‘Never Seen The Rain’ climbs two places to return to #10. Her EP, The Kids Are Coming, also moves back up, returning to the Top Five in the albums chart.
#3 Regard ‘Ride It’ – After two weeks at #4, ‘Ride It’ by Regard moves to a new peak at #3. The remix of Jay Sean’s 2008 hit is experiencing a second life thanks to a surge in popularity on social platform TikTok.
#8 Dua Lipa ‘Don’t Start Now’ – Fresh from being announced as a performer at the 2019 ARIA Awards, Dua Lipa returns to the ARIA Charts with ‘Don’t Start Now’, the first single from her forthcoming second album. This marks the fourth entry into the Singles Chart Top Ten as a lead artist by the English singer. Her highest peak was with ‘New Rules’ (#2 Sept. ’17)
#25 Freya Ridings ‘Castles’ – ‘Castles’ by English singer-songwriter Freya Ridings continues its ascent, climbing nine spots to a new peak of #25.
#28 Meduza ‘Lose Control’ – Meduza’s ‘Lose Control’ jumps 14 spots in its second week. The Italian trio previously hit the ARIA Top 50 Singles Chart with ‘Piece Of Your Heart’, which reached #7 in July 2019.

#1: Kanye West ‘Jesus Is King’ – Kanye West holds #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart for a second week with Jesus Is King. The album becomes the first by West to spend more than one week at #1 in Australia.
#7: Archie Roach ‘Tell Me Why’ – Archie Roach makes the Top Ten with Tell Me Why. It is his first Top Ten album in his 39 year career. The collection is a companion piece to his memoir of the same name featuring a mix of re-recordings, covers and new tracks. This is Roach’s third album to land on the ARIA Top 50 Chart, following Let Love Rule (#24 Nov. ‘16) and Into The Bloodstream (#49 Oct. ‘12).
#8: Shawn Mendes ‘Shawn Mendes’ – Currently touring Australia, Shawn Mendes jumps up five spots to #8 with his self-titled third album. The album has now spent ten weeks in the Top Ten since it debuted at #1 in June 2018.
#12: Jeff Lynne’s ELO ‘From Out Of Nowhere’ – From Out Of Nowhere is the 14th studio album in the Electric Light Orchestra canon, and while it’s the third album of new material since the group originally disbanded in 1986, it’s only the second credited to the moniker Jeff Lynne’s ELO, following Alone In The Universe (#15 Nov. ‘15).
#14: Dean Lewis ‘A Place We Knew’ – Nominated for ARIA Album Of The Year, Dean Lewis’ former #1, A Place We Knew, climbs up seven spots to #14 in its 33rd week in the Top 50.
