Singles Chartifacts:
#1: Tones And I ‘Dance Monkey’ – Tones And I breaks the record for most weeks spent at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart. ‘Dance Monkey’, which is only her second single, breaks Ed Sheeran’s record of 15 weeks with Shape Of You, which has stood since 2017, and is the first Australian single to hold this record since the ARIA Charts began in 1983.
Dan Rosen, CEO of ARIA, said: “This is a truly historic achievement. I am so incredibly thrilled that an Australian artist now holds the record for the longest running Number One song in ARIA Chart history. From busking a year ago to shattering chart records, this is just the start for Tones And I.”
This is the latest chart record for the singer-songwriter, who has broken many records to get here. Over the last 16 weeks she beat out most weeks spent at #1 on the ARIA Singles by any female artist, and any Australian artist and finally this week, any artist. She has also topped the charts in 18 countries, including a record-breaking run by an Australian artist in the UK. She has topped the global charts for Spotify, Shazam, Apple Music, YouTube Music and other music services.
Tones And I now heads into literally uncharted territory, whilst in the middle of a sold-out world tour. She is returning to Australia to perform at the ARIA Awards on 27 November, where she leads the nominations tally with eight.
‘Never Seen The Rain’, her follow up to ‘Dance Monkey’, holds this week at #10.
#2: Maroon 5 ‘Memories’ – In its eighth week on the Singles Chart, ‘Memories’ rises two spots to a new peak. The band’s only previous single to better this position was ‘She Will Be Loved’ (#1 Sep. ‘04), with four other of their tracks peaking at #2: ‘Girls Like You’ (Jul. ’18), ‘One More Night’ (Aug. ‘12), ‘Payphone’ (Jun. ‘12) and ‘Moves Like Jagger’ (Aug. ‘11).
#5. Arizona Zervas ‘Roxanne’ – Arizona Zervas is the latest singer to parlay viral popularity into chart success, arriving in the Top 50 for the first time. Writing and producing all his own music, the independent artist and US native has steadily built a loyal following, with ‘Roxanne’ being used in over 320,000 TikTok videos to date.
#6: Dua Lipa ‘Don’t Start Now’ – Fresh from an acclaimed performance at the MTV EMAs, English singer Dua Lipa rises two spots to equal the success of her first Singles Chart entry, ‘Be The One’ (#6 May ‘16). The 2019 ARIA Awards performer has also scored Top Ten hits with ‘New Rules’ (#2 Sep. ‘17) and ‘IDGAF’ (#3 Apr. ‘18).
Dua Lipa is set to perform at the 2019 ARIA Awards.
#20: Meduza ‘Lose Control’ – This week’s biggest mover, Meduza’s ‘Lose Control’ rises eight places to its highest position to date. This is the Italian production trio’s second entry into the Singles Chart, with previous single ‘Piece Of Your Heart’ peaking at #7 in July of this year.

Albums Chartifacts:
#1: Luke Combs ‘What You See Is What You Get’ – US country singer Luke Combs scores his first #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart with his second album, What You See Is What You Get. His debut, This One’s For You, took a year and one day to reach a peak of #7 in March 2019. Combs’ latest effort features collaborations with country superstars Eric Church and Brooks & Dunn.
#2: Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds ‘Ghosteen’ – Buoyed by a physical release, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds’ 17th studio album ‘Ghosteen’ reaches a new peak after disappearing from the Albums Chart in the four weeks since it debuted at #7. This is now the band’s ninth album to reach the Top 5. It’s also #1 on the ARIA Vinyl Albums Chart.
#7: George Michael & WHAM! ‘Last Christmas – The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack’ – The late George Michael returns to the Top 50 with a collection of songs spanning his career as a solo artist and as half of pop duo WHAM!, plus previously unreleased solo track ‘This Is How (We Want You To Get High)’. Michael’s first posthumous release to enter the chart, this festive movie soundtrack follows the last LP released during his lifetime, live album Symphonica (#11 Mar. ‘14).
#8. Six60 ‘Six60 (3)’ – Having achieved unprecedented success in their home country of New Zealand, Six60 are seeing their appeal cross the ditch as they score their first entry in the Top 50 Albums Chart with their third studio album, Six60 (3).
#11: The Script ‘Sunsets & Full Moons’ – Irish rockers The Script score their sixth Top 10 with their sixth studio album, Sunsets & Full Moons. The nine-track album is billed as a sequel to the band’s self-titled debut, which peaked at #9 in June 2009, as both albums were recorded in times of trauma for singer-songwriter Danny O’Donoghue; both of his parents died on Valentine’s Day ten years apart.
#22: FKA Twigs ‘Magdalene’ – English singer-songwriter FKA Twigs scores her second Top 50 entry with Magdalene, her follow up to the widely acclaimed LP1 (#30 Feb. ‘15). Twigs teamed up with a range of producers including Nicolas Jaar, Koreless, Skrillex, Benny Blanco, Cashmere Cat and Noah Goldstein on her latest album, which deals with themes of heartbreak and hope.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
