#1: The Weeknd ‘Blinding Lights’ – The Weeknd’s ‘Blinding Lights’ is the #1 single on the ARIA Charts for a sixth successive week. The Canadian artist also scores a debut on this week’s chart with ‘After Hours’, the title track of his forthcoming fourth album, debuting at #11.

#7: Lewis Capaldi ‘Before You Go’ – Lewis Capaldi’s second Top Ten hits a new peak at #7. The Scottish singer-songwriter recently won Song Of The Year and Best New Artist at the Brit Awards.

#21: Doja Cat ‘Say So’ – Holding its place in the Top 50 for a fifth week, Doja Cat’s chart debut ‘Say So’ jumps up seven spots to claim a new peak at #21. Its popularity continues to grow thanks to several dance challenge videos on TikTok using the song. Doja Cat’s album Hot Pink hits a new peak this week at #29.

#29: BTS ‘On’ – On top of their debut at #1 on the Albums Chart with Map Of The Soul: 7, BTS hit the Singles Chart for the first time in 2020 with ‘On’. It’s the Korean boy band’s fifth track to appear in the Top 50. Last year, they scored their first ever Top Ten with ‘Boy With Luv’ (#10 Apr. ’19). The digital edition of Map Of The Soul: 7 includes an alternate version of ‘On’ featuring Australian singer-songwriter Sia.

Albums Chartifacts:

#1: BTS ‘Map Of The Soul: 7’ – Korean superstars BTS snare their second #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart with Map Of The Soul: 7. The seven-member group’s seventh album (their fourth sung in Korean) comes a year on from their first chart-topper, the EP Map Of The Soul: Persona (#1 Apr. ’19). It’s also their fifth Top Ten entry, having first hit the chart with Love Yourself: Her (#8 Sept. ’17). Map Of The Soul: 7 features five tracks from Map Of The Soul: Persona, including the Halsey-featured single ‘Boy With Luv’ (#10 Apr. ’19). One new song, ‘On’, has debuted at #29 on this week’s Singles Chart. They remain the only Korean musical act to top the ARIA Albums Chart.

#2: The Amity Affliction ‘Everyone Loves You…Once You Leave Them’ – The Amity Affliction release their seventh album Everyone Loves You…Once You Leave Them. The Gympie metalcore band’s previous four albums all topped the ARIA Charts: Chasing Ghosts (#1 Sept. ’12), Let The Ocean Take Me (#1 Jun. ’14), This Could Be Heartbreak (#1 Aug. ’16) and Misery (#1 Sept. ’18). All four albums also received Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album ARIA Awards nominations. Their new release becomes their sixth Top Ten entry.

#3: Polaris ‘The Death Of Me’ – Sydney’s Polaris score a new career best with second album The Death Of Me. The five-piece metalcore band last charted with The Mortal Coil (#6 Nov. ’17), which earned them a nomination for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album at the 2018 ARIA Awards. Polaris’ first chart appearance was with the EP The Guilt and The Grief (#34 Feb. ’16). The Death Of Me is #1 on this week’s ARIA Vinyl Albums Chart.

#4: Ozzy Osbourne ‘Ordinary Man’ – The legendary Ozzy Osbourne releases Ordinary Man, his first solo album in ten years. The follow-up to Scream (#11 Jun. ’10) features contributions by Elton John, Post Malone, Guns N’ Roses’ Duff McKagan and the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith. Between solo albums, Osbourne reunited with Black Sabbath to release 13 (#4 Jun. ’13) and to participate in their farewell tour. This is Ozzy Osbourne’s first solo Top Ten in Australia.

#10: Grimes ‘Miss Anthropocene’ – Canadian musician/producer/visual artist Grimes takes out her highest chart peak with Miss Anthropocene. The fifth album from the singer-songwriter also known as Claire Boucher is her second to chart in the Top 50, coming five years since Art Angels (#30 Nov. ’15).
