Singles Chartifacts:
#1: The Weeknd ‘Blinding Lights’ – The Weeknd’s ‘Blinding Lights’ sits at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart for a seventh straight week. He also appears in the chart with ‘After Hours’, the title track to the Canadian’s forthcoming fourth album, which is at #37 in its second week in the Top 50.
#7: Lady Gaga ‘Stupid Love’ – American star Lady Gaga takes out her first new entry on the Singles Chart in over a year with ‘Stupid Love’. It’s the first track to be released from her upcoming sixth studio album, Chromatica, which is set for release on 10 April. ‘Stupid Love’ becomes Lady Gaga’s 13th Top Ten single in Australia and the first since the multi-award-winning ‘Shallow’ (#1 Oct. ’18). She first hit the Top Ten with ‘Just Dance’ (#1 Sept. ’08).
#8: Doja Cat ‘Say So’ – In its sixth week in the Top 50, Doja Cat’s ‘Say So’ is the week’s biggest mover, climbing 13 spots to #8. It comes on the back of the release of the single’s music video. As well as being the first Top Ten entry in Australia for the American rapper, it’s also hit the Top Ten in Canada and New Zealand.
#16: Dua Lipa ‘Physical’ – Moving up eleven spots to #16 in its fifth week in the Top 50, Dua Lipa’s ‘Physical’ claims a new peak. The English star was in Australia this week, headlining the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Party. Her single ‘Don’t Start Now’ is #2 for a ninth non-consecutive week; it ranks third in the ARIA Singles Charts list of most weeks at #2 without hitting #1.
#25: Sam Smith ‘To Die For’ – Also appearing at the Mardi Gras Party, Sam Smith has hit a new peak at #25 with ‘To Die For’. Smith surprised spectators by marching up Sydney’s Oxford St alongside members of the LGBTIQ+ Youth Network as part of their Mardi Gras float.

Albums Chartifacts:
#1: BTS ‘Map Of The Soul: 7’ – BTS back up their debut at #1 with a second week in the top spot for Map Of The Soul: 7. Since topping the ARIA Albums Chart last week, the album has hit #1 in over a dozen countries including the US, UK and New Zealand. That’s one week more than the Korean superstars’ first Australian #1 Map Of The Soul: Persona, which spent one week at #1.
#2: Five Finger Death Punch ‘F8’ – American metal band Five Finger Death Punch score their highest peak on the ARIA Albums Chart with F8. The eighth album from the five-piece comes two years on from And Justice For None (#4 May ’18). Five Finger Death Punch’s previous highest peak was with Got Your Six (#3 Sept. ’15). F8 is the band’s first album to feature new drummer Charlie Engen.
#7: Slowly Slowly ‘Race Car Blues’ – Slowly Slowly make their ARIA Top 50 debut with Race Car Blues. It’s the Melbourne pop punk band’s third studio album, coming two years on from St. Leonards, which peaked at #77 in May 2018. The Race Car Blues track ‘Jellyfish’ was #57 in this year’s Triple J Hottest 100. The album is #1 on this week’s ARIA Vinyl Albums Chart.
#20: Lil Baby ‘My Turn’ – Releasing his second album, My Turn, American rapper Lil Baby scores his first solo Top 50 entry. The Atlanta-based artist released his first solo album, Harder Than Ever, in May 2018. In October 2018 he teamed up with Gunna for the mixtape Drip Harder (#45 Oct. ’18). Gunna also features on My Turn; other collaborators include with Future, Lil Wayne, Young Thug and more.
#23: James Taylor ‘American Standard’ – Veteran singer-songwriter James Taylor releases his 20th studio album American Standard. The follow-up to Before This World (#12 Jun. ’15) finds Taylor taking on tracks from the Great American Songbook including ‘Moon River’, ‘The Nearness Of You’, ‘Pennies From Heaven’ and ‘Ol’ Man River’. Before This World was Taylor’s first #1 album in the US.
