Singles Chartifacts: 

1: Ariana Grande ‘7 Rings’ – Ariana Grande holds #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart for a fourth straight week with ‘7 Rings’. Grande scores a #1 double on this week’s chart with the debut of Thank U, Next at the top of the Albums Chart. The album’s other two previously-released songs have moved back up the chart: ‘Thank U, Next’ jumps from #11 to #7 and ‘Imagine’ re-enters at #25.

#2: Ariana Grande ‘Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored’ (Debut) – With Thank U, Next topping the Albums Chart, Ariana Grande notches up twelve entries on this week’s Singles Chart, including nine debuts. On top of the three tracks from the album already released, the American artist appears on the chart with ‘Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored’ (#2), ‘Bloodline’ (#11), ‘Needy’ (#13), ‘NASA’ (#16), ‘Bad Idea’ (#21), ‘Fake Smile’ (#22), ‘Ghostin’ (#26), ‘In My Head’ (#36) and ‘Make Up’ (#41).

#6: Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper ‘Shallow’ – After taking out two Grammys, Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper’s ‘Shallow’ jumps back up to #6. The lead single from the soundtrack to A Star Is Born won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Song Written for Visual Media at the ceremony held on Sunday.

#24: Khalid ‘Talk’ (Debut) – American singer-songwriter Khalid takes out his first new entry on the Singles Chart for 2019 with ‘Talk’. It’s the first single from Khalid’s forthcoming second album and was produced by English duo Disclosure. Last year, Khalid scored his highest Singles Chart peak, hitting #3 with the duet with Normani, ‘Love Lies’ (#3 Apr. ’18).

#28: The Chainsmokers Feat. 5 Seconds of Summer ‘Who Do You Love’ (Debut) – American duo The Chainsmokers team up with Aussie band 5 Seconds of Summer for ‘Who Do You Love’. It’s the second single to hit the chart for the American duo in under a month, having debuted in late-January with ‘Hope’ (#36 Feb. ’19). 5 Seconds Of Summer were recently on the chart with ‘Lie To Me’ (#38 Feb. ’19).

#1: Ariana Grande ‘Thank U, Next’ (Debut) – Ariana Grande takes out her fourth #1 album on the ARIA Charts with Thank U, Next. Coming six months on from Sweetener (#1 Aug. ’18), the album features the #1 singles ‘7 Rings’ (#1 Jan. ’19) and the title track (#1 Nov. ’18), as well as promo single ‘Imagine’ (#15 Dec. ’18). All twelve tracks from Thank U, Next are in the Top 50 of the Singles Chart this week: ‘7 Rings’ holds #1, ‘Thank U, Next’ jumps to #7 and ‘Imagine’ re-enters the chart at #25, while there are debuts for ‘Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored’ (#2), ‘Bloodline’ (#11), ‘Needy’ (#13), ‘NASA’ (#16), ‘Bad Idea’ (#21), ‘Fake Smile’ (#22), ‘Ghostin’ (#26), ‘In My Head’ (#36) and ‘Make Up’ (#41). Ariana Grande has also hit #1 in Australia with Dangerous Woman (#1 May ’16) and My Everything (#1 Sept. ’14). This week, Sweetener jumps seven spots to #7.

#4: Sticky Fingers ‘Yours To Keep’ (Debut) – Sydney band Sticky Fingers release fourth album, Yours To Keep. It’s their third Top Ten album after Land Of Pleasure (#3 Aug. ’14) and Westway (The Glitter & The Slums) (#1 Oct. ’16).

#13: Dua Lipa ‘Dua Lipa’ – Dua Lipa’s self-titled debut album returns to the chart at #13 following her Grammy win for Best New Talent. Debuting in June 2017, the album peaked at #8 in April 2018.

#26: Cardi B ‘Invasion Of Privacy’ – Cardi B made history at this year’s Grammy’s, becoming the first female solo artist to win Best Rap Album for Invasion Of Privacy. It jumps up the chart 19 spots this week to #26.

#35: Jess Glynne ‘Always In Between’ – Following her Australian tour, Jess Glynne re-enters the chart at #35 with second album, Always In Between.
