Singles Chartifacts: 

#1: Ariana Grande ‘Thank U, Next’ – Moving up one spot from its debut position, ‘Thank U, Next’ becomes Ariana Grande’s second #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart. Grande first hit #1 in April of this year, when she topped the chart with ‘No Tears Left To Cry’. ‘Thank U, Next’ has also hit #1 in the UK and US.

#3: Halsey ‘Without Me’ – Halsey’s ‘Without Me’ continues its steady climb up the chart. In its sixth week in the Top 50, it’s moved up a further spot to grab another new peak at #3. 

#6: Post Malone & Swae Lee ‘Sunflower’ – Notching up a fourth week in the chart, Post Malone and Swae Lee take out a new peak at #6 with ‘Sunflower’.

#10: Billie Eilish ‘When The Party’s Over’ – After two weeks out of the Top Ten, Billie EIlish’s ‘When The Party’s Over’ returns to its previous peak position.

#18: Queen ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ – Returning to the Top 50 last week, ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ jumps up eight spots this week to #18. Two more Queen classics have hit the chart this week: ‘Another One Bites The Dust’ at #39 and ‘Somebody To Love’ at #50.

Albums Chartifacts:

#1: Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper ‘A Star Is Born’ – Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s soundtrack to A Star Is Born holds #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart for a fourth consecutive week. The duo’s track ‘Shallow’ has dropped back to #2 on the Singles Chart.

#4: Imagine Dragons ‘Origins’ (Debut) – With Origins, their fourth studio album, American band Imagine Dragons score their fourth #4 peak on the ARIA Albums Chart. The follow-up to Evolve (#4 Jul. ’17) features the singles ‘Natural’ (#28 Sept. ’18) and ‘Bad Liar’ (#35 Nov. ’18). Some versions also include the band’s collaboration with Norwegian DJ Kygo, ‘Born To Be Yours’ (#18 Aug. ’18). Imagine Dragons have also peaked at #4 with Night Visions (#4 Aug. ’13) and Smoke + Mirrors (#4 Feb. ’15). Evolve re-enters the chart this week at #47.

#5: Midnight Oil ‘Armistice Day: Live At the Domain, Sydney’ (Debut) – ARIA Hall Of Famers Midnight Oil chronicle their reunion tour with Armistice Day: Live At The Domain, Sydney. Recorded in The Domain in Sydney on 11 November 2017, the album features many of the band’s best-known tracks including ‘The Dead Heart’ (#4 Aug. ’86), ‘Beds Are Burning’ (#6 Sept. ’87) and ‘Blue Sky Mine’ (#8 Mar. ’90). Midnight Oil have also previously charted with the live albums Scream In Blue (#3 May ’92) and The Real Thing (#7 Jul. ’00).

#7: Muse ‘Simulation Theory’ (Debut) – Returning with eighth studio album, Simulation Theory, British rock band Muse take out a fifth entry in the ARIA Top Ten. The album is the follow-up to Drones (#1 Jun. ’15). Muse have also previously topped the chart with Black Holes And Revelations (#1 Jul. ’06) and The Resistance (#1 Sept. ’09).

#8: Architects ‘Holy Hell’ (Debut) – British metalcore band Architects take out a second Top Ten entry with Holy Hell. The group’s eighth album comes two years on from All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us (#2 Jun. ’16) and is the first to be released without founding member and main songwriter Tom Searle, who passed away in August 2016.
