Singles Chartifacts:
#1: Tones And I ‘Dance Monkey’ – Tones And I holds #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart for a fourth consecutive week with ‘Dance Monkey’. The Byron Bay artist also sits at #20 this week with ‘Johnny Run Away’ and #21 with ‘Never Seen The Rain’. The last time a single by Australian female solo artist to spent four straight weeks at #1 was Gabriella Cilmi’s ‘Sweet About Me’ in May/June 2008 (it spent a total of five non-consecutive weeks in the top spot).
#6: Blanco Brown ‘The Git Up’ – Notching up its tenth week in the Top 50, Blanco Brown’s ‘The Git Up’ moves up two more spots to claim another new peak at #6. The country rap track peaked at #14 in America.
#8: Lil Tecca ‘Ransom’ – A week on from debuting at #15, Lil Tecca’s ‘Ransom’ storms into the Top Ten at #8. It also peaked at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US.
#9: Marshmello Feat. Kane Brown ‘One Thing Right’ – Eight weeks into its chart run, ‘One Thing Right’ by American producer Marshmello moves up three to hit the Top Ten for the first time. Featuring country singer Kane Brown, it’s the third country crossover track to feature in this week’s Top Ten along with Lil Nas X’s ‘Old Town Road’ and Blanco Brown’s ‘The Git Up’.
#15: Taylor Swift ‘Lover’ – With Taylor Swift’s seventh album likely to appear in the upper reaches of next week’s Albums Chart, its title track becomes the fourth song to hit the Singles Chart. ‘Lover’ follows ‘Me!’ (#2 May ’19), ‘You Need To Calm Down’ (#3 Jun. ’19) and ‘The Archer’ (#19 Aug. ’19) into the Top 50. Like much of the album, ‘Lover’ was co-produced by Swift and Jack Antonoff.

#1: Ed Sheeran ‘No.6 Collaborations Project’ – After a week at #2, Ed Sheeran’s No.6 Collaborations Project returns to take out a fifth week at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart.
#2: King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard ‘Infest The Rats’ Nest’ – Melbourne’s King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard score their second debut on the Albums Chart in 2019 with Infest The Rats’ Nest. The seven-piece’s 15th studio album comes three months on from Fishing For Fishies (#4 May ’19) and sees them take a turn into heavy metal. Infest The Rats’ Nest is the seventh King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard album to hit the ARIA Top Ten and second to peak at #2 after Flying Microtonal Banana (#2 Mar. ’17). Infest The Rats’ Nest also tops this week’s ARIA Vinyl Albums Chart.
#4: Killswitch Engage ‘Atonement’ – American metalcore band Killswitch Engage notch up their third Top Ten on the ARIA Albums Chart with Atonement. It’s their first album since Incarnate (#5 Mar. ’16). Killswitch Engage first hit the Top Ten with Disarm The Descent (#6 Apr. ’13).
#14: Soundtrack ‘Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood’ – The soundtrack to Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood makes its chart debut in the same week the film debuts in Australian cinemas. The album features a host of tracks from the late-1960s by the likes of Deep Purple, The Box Tops, Simon & Garfunkel, Paul Revere & The Raiders, Los Bravos and more. The American director’s previous film soundtracks that have charted include Pulp Fiction (#4 Feb. ’95), Jackie Brown (#30 Mar. ’98), Kill Bill: Volume 1 (#22 Oct. ’03), Kill Bill: Volume 2 (#43 May ’04) and Django Unchained (#45 Feb. ’13).
#34: Sleater-Kinney ‘The Center Won’t Hold’ – Iconic American indie band Sleater-Kinney take out their first entry in the ARIA Top 50 with The Center Won’t Hold. Produced by St Vincent’s Annie Clark, the follow-up to 2015’s No Cities To Love is the trio’s ninth studio album and their second since reuniting in 2014. Between the announcement of the album and its release, Sleater-Kinney drummer Janet Weiss resigned from the group.
