Singles Chartifacts: 

#1: Lil Nas X ‘Old Town Road’ – Lil Nas X’s ‘Old Town Road’ holds #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart for an eleventh week. This now puts the American rapper level with Bryan Adams’ ‘Everything I Do (I Do It For You)’ (#1 Jul. ’91), the Spice Girls’ ‘Wannabe’ (#1 Nov. ’96) and Drake’s ‘God’s Plan’ (#1 Feb. ’18) for weeks spent in the top spot.

#4: Ed Sheeran Feat. Khalid ‘Beautiful People’ (Debut) – Ahead of the release of his album No.6 Collaborations Project next week, Ed Sheeran scores a third Singles Chart entry from it, with ‘Beautiful People’. Featuring American artist Khalid, the track follows the album’s previous singles – ‘I Don’t Care’ (#1 May ’19) and ‘Cross Me’ (#5 Jun. ’19) – into the Top Ten.

#7: Meduza Feat. Goodboys ‘Piece Of Your Heart’ – In its seventh week in the Top 50, ‘Piece Of Your Heart’ by Italian trio Meduza moves up two spots to claim another new peak at #7.

#10: Guy Sebastian ‘Choir’ – Jumping up ten spots to #10 in its fourth week in the Top 50, ‘Choir’ becomes Guy Sebastian’s first appearance in the ARIA Singles Chart Top Ten since ‘Like A Drum’ (#4 Nov. ’13).

#17: Tones And I ‘Dance Monkey’ – ‘Dance Monkey’, Tones And I’s second single, climbs 14 spots to land a new peak at #17. This week it’s one spot below her first charting single ‘Johnny Run Away’, which sits at #16.

#1: Kylie Minogue ‘Step Back In Time: The Definitive Collection’ (Debut) – ARIA Hall Of Fame member Kylie Minogue snares her sixth #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart with Step Back In Time: The Definitive Collection. The career-spanning set features all ten of her Australian #1 singles, as well as duets with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Jason Donovan and Robbie Williams, and new track ‘New York City’. Kylie Minogue has previously hit #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart with Light Years (#1 Oct. ’00), Fever (#1 Oct. ’01), X (#1 Dec. ’07), Kiss Me Once (#1 Mar. ’14) and Golden (#1 Apr. ’18). She entered the Hall Of Fame in 2011.

Step Back In Time: The Definitive Collection is the fifth Australian #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart in 2019.

#3: Chris Brown ‘Indigo’ (Debut) – Chris Brown takes out a sixth Top Ten album on the ARIA Charts with Indigo. It’s the American performer’s ninth album and first since Heartbreak On A Full Moon (#5 Nov. ’17). Two tracks from the album have entered the Singles Chart Top 50: ‘No Guidance’ (#7 Jun. ’19) and ‘Don’t Check On Me’ (#20 Jul. ’19).

#4: The Black Keys ‘Let’s Rock’ (Debut) – American rock band The Black Keys return with their first album in five years, Let’s Rock. The follow-up to the duo’s first #1 album Turn Blue (May ’14) is their fourth Top Ten in Australia, having also charted with Brothers (#8 May ’10) and El Camino (#3 Feb. ’12).

#10: P!nk ‘Beautiful Trauma’ – P!nk’s Beautiful Trauma jumps back into the chart at #10. It’s the former #1 album’s 25th week in the Top Ten.

#13: Morgan Evans ‘Things That We Drink To’ – Following a week which included an appearance on The Voice and a release of a video for new single ‘Young Again’, Newcastle singer-songwriter Morgan Evans jumps back into the chart at #13 with his second album, Things That We Drink To. The album previously peaked at #5.
