#1: Jimmy Barnes ‘My Criminal Record’ (Debut) – ARIA Hall Of Fame member Jimmy Barnes debuts at #1 on this week’s ARIA Albums Chart with My Criminal Record. The album becomes Barnes’ 12th chart-topper and gives him the record for most #1 albums on the ARIA Charts (1983-present), having previously held it jointly with Madonna and U2. Barnes’ first album of original material since Rage And Ruin (#3 Sept. ’10) is his first of originals to hit #1 since Two Fires (#1 Sept. ’90).
On news of his record-breaking achievement, Jimmy Barnes said: “The songs on this album are really personal because they were inspired by the experiences I had writing and touring my memoirs. Having this music strike a chord with people therefore feels particularly good. I’m grateful to everyone who’s continued to support me over the years and I’m looking forward to screaming my thanks in person when I get back out on the road shortly.”

Jimmy Barnes has hit #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart with Bodyswerve (1984, 2 weeks), For The Working Class Man (1985, 7 weeks), Freight Train Heart (1987, 5 weeks), Barnestorming (1988, 3 weeks), Two Fires (1990, 5 weeks), Soul Deep (1991, 3 weeks), Hits (1996, 1 week), Double Happiness (2005, 3 weeks), The Rhythm And The Blues (2009, 2 weeks), 30:30 Hindsight (2014, 1 week), Soul Searchin’ (2016, 1 week) and My Criminal Record (2019).
My Criminal Record is the fourth Australian #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart in 2019.
#3: Elton John ‘Diamonds’ – Elton John’s hits compilation Diamonds continues to rocket up the chart, moving up five this week to score a new peak at #3.
#5: Susan Boyle ‘Ten’ (Debut) – Susan Boyle hits the chart for the first time since 2016 with Ten. The album features tracks from the first decade of her recording career, as well as four newly-recorded tracks. Boyle most recently charted with A Wonderful World (#14 Dec. ’16). She hit #1 with I Dreamed A Dream (#1 Nov. ’09) and Someone To Watch Over Me (#1 Nov. ’11).
#10: Miley Cyrus ‘She Is Coming’ (Debut) – Miley Cyrus takes out a fifth Top Ten entry with the EP She Is Coming. The six-track release is the first of three EPs Cyrus intends to release in 2019; the contents of all three will come together to be Cyrus’ seventh studio album, She Is Miley Cyrus, the follow-up to Younger Now (#2 Oct. ’17).
#15: Skepta ‘Ignorance Is Bliss’ (Debut) – London grime rapper Skepta scores his second chart entry with Ignorance Is Bliss. Coming three years on from Konnichiwa (#13 May ’16), the album includes guest spots by J Hus, WizKid, Boy Better Know and more.

#1: Lil Nas X ‘Old Town Road’ – ‘Old Town Road’ by American rapper Lil Nas X takes out a seventh week at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart.
#5: Ed Sheeran Feat. Chance the Rapper & PnB Rock ‘Cross Me’ – Moving up one spot from its debut position, ‘Cross Me’ becomes Ed Sheeran’s 13th track to hit the Top Five on the ARIA Singles Chart.
#7: Katy Perry ‘Never Really Over’ (Debut) – Releasing ‘Never Really Over’, Katy Perry takes out her 13th Top Ten on the ARIA Singles Chart. The track is Perry’s first to chart in the Top 50 in Australia since ‘Swish Swish’ (#22 Jul. ’17). She last appeared in the Top Ten with ‘Chained To The Rhythm’ (#4 Feb. ’17).
#13: Young Thug Feat. J. Cole & Travis Scott ‘The London’ – After making his Top 50 debut last week, ‘The London’ by Young Thug has climbed four spots to hit a new peak at #13.
#16: Tones And I ‘Johnny Run Away’ – In its fourth week in the Top 50, ‘Johnny Run Away’ by Melbourne singer-songwriter Tones And I continues to move upwards, jumping six spots this week to snare a new peak at #16.
