Rounding out a prolific year, fast-rising Australian dark-pop artist Oliver Cronin has teamed up with German producer Topic for the summer-ready anthem “1,2,3” out now via Warner Music Australia. Listen HERE.

“1,2,3” hears the Sydney based artist entering an electronic soundscape lifted by Topic’s recognisable production fusion. It’s an experimentation that hears Oliver in a bright sonical perspective while still shadowing with dark-pop lyricism. The standalone track follows the recent release of the hypnotic “Speed Bump”, and the tropical-pop collaboration “I Need You” with Lil Xxel earlier this year which have all highlighted a well-crafted sound, and a desire for experimentation.

“We made 1,2,3 in Sydney when Topic was on his Australian tour. We had met at his show the night before and decided to hop in the studio the next day. That same night he played the track at his Brisbane show and the response was insane! This track is about the insecurities of being in love, and questioning if you’re good enough for that person. We put a spin on quite a serious theme and turned it into a light hearted, fun dance track that will be the soundtrack for the summer!” says Oliver of the track.

“Whilst I was on tour in Australia I noticed Oliver Cronin popping up on all my socials. I messaged him directly and we met the same day. We initially went into the studio to make some content together but then after recording “1, 2, 3” it was so good I played it the same day and we knew we had to release it. Normally releases are planned for several months. This time It all went really quick and after a few weeks of real time promo it’s finally out.” says Topic on the track.

2023 has been a year full of highs for Oliver Cronin which has seen multiple viral successes with his TikTok remixes and livestreams that have seen him amass over 560K followers on the app. Interpretations of songs like “Paint The Town Red” by Doja Cat, “Escapism” by RAYE, and “3:15 (Breathe)” by Russ have introduced him to a whole new audience, while his livestreams have seen him creating new music and candidly showing viewers his creative process. In October he dropped the three-track EP “after midnight (demos)” which was a collection of unfinished demos he’s written on livestreams but ones that fans were requesting. He also featured on Connor Price’s viral track “RUBY”, and Canadian rising star Lum’s “Temptation”.

On the touring front in 2023, Oliver joined Nessa Barrett on her sold-out Australian and New Zealand tour earlier this month which saw him performing in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Auckland. He also performed at the inaugural SXSW Sydney in October where he wowed the audience with his energetic full-band live show. 

With over 19 million combined streams, and over 422K monthly listeners on Spotify alone, it’s safe to say that Oliver Cronin has all ears turned towards him right now. 2022 saw him release his debut EP “Beautiful Nightmare” which featured “Boys Don’t Cry”, a standout moment that has amassed over 7.4 million streams after it resonated with audiences on TikTok. In the process, it reached numerous corner of the globe hitting Spotify’s Viral Charts in Germany (#9), Czech Republic (#20), and Austria (#54).

Topic is an internationally renowned DJ and producer who has made an indelible mark on the global music scene. His captivating dance music has garnered billions of streams and achieved numerous gold, platinum & diamond certifications in 28 countries, solidifying his position as one of the biggest names in electronic music today and collaborating with artists like ATB, A7S, Lil Baby, Bebe Rexha, and more. His achievements have been recognised with prestigious awards and nominations, including the MTV Europe Music Awards, Teen Choice Awards, Best Dance Act at the Los 40 Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and the Brit Awards for International Song Of The Year in 2022.
