One Day, the Inner West Sydney hip hop collective comprised of Aussie rap favourites Horrorshow, Joyride, Spit Syndicate, and Jackie Onassis, have over the past few years built up a truly epic following across the nation for their monthly rap and sunshine-soaked Sunday block parties, One Day Sundays.
These inimitable parties have exploded everywhere, but one location moreso than any other: the West Coast. In Perth, ODS has grown from a monthly sold-out party that’s packed out neighbourhood pub The Rosemount to the gills, to popping up all over the joint, with huge parties at pop-up venues like The Ice Cream Factory, Noodle Palace and Embargo.
This time, One Day is heading to one of WA’s most breathtaking beach locations. Slap on the SPF and sunnies and cruise the coast with the beats up high and the windows down low, and pull up at Port Beach, Fremantle (the home of Sets on the Beach), for WAVY. An open-air, beachside block party, WAVY features a line up of the country’s hottest hip hop, rap, and soul live acts and DJs, plus gourmet street food, market stalls, boutique bars, and all the usual One Day Sundays trimmings. It’s Australia’s first ever beachside hip hop festival, and trust us, you wanna be there when this epic day goes down.

Club on the sand, cocktail in hand, expert curators One Dayers have dished up a line-up of crazy good LIVE acts that will have you turning up ‘til the tide comes in:
A critically-acclaimed Sydney duo that are ‘shore’ to come through with an epic set are Horrorshow, who in 2018 have been celebrating the ten-year anniversary of their debut release The Grey Space, with sold-out shows across the country. Solo and Adit have supported the likes of the Hilltop Hoods and Bliss n Eso, and of late have also started smashing it out with symphony orchestras, no less. Horrorshow are one of Australia’s best loved hip hop acts, and are excited to get everyone crowd ‘surfing’ to some Horrorshow classics at WAVY.
Joining Horrorshow on the WAVY line-up is a Sydney native well on his way to international stardom – Manu Crooks. Recently touring Australia as part of the Listen Out festival as well as Alison Wonderand’s rural rave The Scarehouse Project, Manu Crooks sound is world class; his hard-hitting latest, “Fuego”, has a none-too-shabby 5 million streams on Spotify, and he’s stoked to perform it live for his WA crew at WAVY.
Fremantle’s own jazz fusion hip-hop cum psychedelic funk-rock six-piece (say that in a hurry!) Superego (FKA Pow! Negro) have whipped up a heap of acclaim for their hectic live show and can’t wait to bring their slick guitars, tasteful electronics, banging drums, smooth sax and fluid rhymes to WAVY.
With honeyed vocals, fierce rhymes and a bold eclectic style to match, Melbourne’s 19-year-old Kaiit was hailed as ‘one to watch’ at Brisbane’s taste-making BIGSOUND festival recently, and will cast a spell on WAVY’s seaside stage with her alluring soulful sounds.
Joining these inimitable live acts is 2018’s strongest DJ line-up, stacked with all your One Day faves: Klasik, Aslan, Gravy, Sas, Charlie Bucket, Bun Dem, StreetX DJs and Hyclass.
