Following his recently-released Live In Amsterdam album, a tour with Kamasi Washington and BBC Radio 6 Music playlisted single ‘Gravitate’, Oscar Jerome debuts new single ‘Lizard Street’. The South London artist’s new track arrives in support of a lengthy European tour that kicked off last week, and just ahead of his debut Australian Tour next month.
After starring in the recent campaign for Stella McCartney’s ‘All Together Now’ collection, the fashion designer also provided the wardrobe for the ‘Lizard Street’ video, directed by Denisha Anderson – watch below…
A song borne out of a long-harboured resentment of the dog-eat-dog mentality we impose on ourselves, ‘Lizard Street’ sees Oscar’s songwriting at its most versatile, owing just as much to hip-hop and West African music as his jazz and soul influences. Talking about the track, Oscar says: “‘Lizard Street’ puts me in a mood from a while back. Sometimes you get so caught in comparing yourself to others in the framework of a capitalist game that you forget who you really are. I thought I was turning into a lizard…but I’m alright now ;-)”.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
