It is with great pleasure we announce that PBS is being inducted into the Music Victoria Hall of Fame.
PBS started broadcasting in 1979 as a community, member-based radio station unimpeded by commercial interests and dedicated to sharing and promoting diverse music not heard on other stations. As PBS celebrates 40 years of broadcasting, this induction is significant and timely as it cements the incredible contribution PBS has made to Melbourne’s vibrant music community in the hearts of music lovers all over.
“PBS is delighted to be inducted into the Music Victoria Hall of Fame in our 40th year. We are very proud of our place in Melbourne’s vibrant music community and thank everyone who has played a part in PBS along the way. Stay tuned for the next 40 years and beyond!” – Adrian Basso, General Manager
The induction will take place at the Music Victoria Awards on Wednesday November 20 at the Melbourne Recital Centre. Also being inducted into the Hall of Fame are the legendary Vika and Linda Bull.
‘’Music Victoria recognises the deep contributions both PBS 106.7FM and Vika and Linda Bull have made to the fabric of Victorian music and culture and is proud to present them both as Inductees to the Music Victoria Awards Hall of Fame in 2019.’’
Patrick Donovan, Music Victoria
To further celebrate turning 40, for the first time, PBS’ history is being collated in a printed book and made available to the public. 40 Years of PBS Radio will feature rare and (in some cases) previously unseen photos, posters, and historical artefacts that capture the rich and diverse history of the station and our music community.
The book will showcase our journey championing local and under-represented music since 1979, and provide a tangible piece of culturally important memorabilia for fans of music, radio and PBS. More information on the book here.
PBS will also be celebrating on air with a very special 40th Birthday Broadcast on Saturday December 21 – Don’t’ miss it!
Tune in to PBS at 106.7FM, on Digital Radio and online at pbsfm.org.au

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
