Peking Duk have launched into 2020 with the release of their brand new single ‘Move’, featuring Alisa Xayalith of The Naked and Famous – out now via Sony Music Entertainment Australia.
‘Move’ is unmistakingly a Peking Duk summer anthem, with their notable sweeping chorus’ paired perfectly with the warm vocals of Xayalith.
Speaking of the track and collaboration, Adam Hyde of Peking Duk comments “‘Move’ is a song about that unspoken awkward moment when you’re with someone you want to get closer to but can’t communicate it via words. The beat was made in the back of an uber (that actually got pulled over for speeding) in LA on the way to the session. Once the beat was played in the room it felt all too right writing the lyrics about that romantic butterflies-in-stomach moment over such a dreamy/cruisy beat. We are stoked to have Alisa Xalayith bless this song as we have been huge fans of The Naked and Famous from the rip. We hope you enjoy bumping this song as much as we enjoyed making it”.
‘Move’ is the first release from the Australian duo in 2020, following on from a mammouth 2019 for the band. 2019 saw Peking Duk release ARIA certified GOLD ‘Sugar’ with fellow Australian Jack River, as well as ‘Ur Eyez’ alongisde Al Wright of Cloud Control. The band also spent months on the road taking their tour ‘The Biggest Tour Ever…So Far’ to over 50,000 Australians, including a sold out Hordern Pavilion in Sydney.
They closed out the decade at Falls Festival in Byron Bay, just days after their remarkable efforts pulling together a Fire Relief Fundraiser in Melbourne following the cancellation of Falls Festival in Lorne. With six hours to pull everything together, Peking Duk brought their fully live festival show to the iconic and intimate Gershwin Room at The Espy – their first show since their 8000 capacity headline show at Melbourne Arena in April. Peking Duk, alongside Tones & I, G-Flip, Benson and Dj MIMI raised $50,000, with the funds being split equally amongst the RFA-NSW, RFA-QLD, CFA-VIC for ongoing fire support and the Royal Red Cross Fire appeal who provide much needed relief. Peking Duk have also been announced to perform at Fire Fight Australia on February 16 at ANZ Stadium in Sydney, raising funds for National Bushfire Relief.
The ARIA Award winners have amassed over 350 million streams globally and accredited over 1.5million ARIA units. They have taken their live show far beyond Australian borders, performing to sold-out crowds in venues and festivals across the US, UK, Asia and Europe. Peking Duk show no signs of slowing down in 2020, and will head to Japan in early March for Snow Machine Hakuba Festival.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
