French producer, composer, and songwriter Petit Biscuit has revealed his highly anticipated Parachute album – out now. The project was recorded across Petit Biscuit’s global travels as he spent time in Los Angeles sessions and self-isolated on the coast of Iceland for a reprieve from the hustle of daily life. With a wealth of new life experiences to extract from, Parachute finds Petit Biscuit coming into his own as an introspective lyricist with explorations of love, war, and death alongside his self-assured step into the vocal spotlight. Parachute features nine tracks including the recently released ‘Drivin Thru The Night’ and  ‘I Leave Again’ feat. Shallou, alongside cuts like ‘Burnin’, the Diplo-assisted ‘Pick Your Battles’ and forward-thinking ‘Constellation’ which Petit Biscuit pinpoints as the future of his sound.

Today, Petit also shares a brilliant music video for ‘Burnin’ directed by Aube Perrie which provides ultra-compelling visuals. ‘Burnin’ comes on the heels of ‘Drivin Thru The Night’ which was praised by the likes of Your EDM for its “shimmering electro-pop production.”

Petit Biscuit explains his newest “is a very sensual song. After starting it in LA with Chrome Sparks, it’s one I went back to and worked on a lot during isolation… it’s about ambiguity between two friends with benefits… one fell in love and the other one is playing with that ambiguity. Something that happens when you’re very young and innocent and don’t know better.”

As for the music video, he continues, “I think a lot of fans will recognise themselves in the lead actors. Almost everyone has experienced that kind of holiday relationship when you’re tired of someone but you don’t know if they’re tired of you too. It’s something that could appear as sad, but I think it’s like a comedy or a love story… at the end, you just have this little feeling in your heart because you don’t know what will happen. But it also feels good watching this story unfold.”

On the creative evolution that took place while recording Parachute, Petit says, “You’re waking up, you’re thinking about your project. You’re going to sleep, you’re thinking about your project. It’s taken all my life and I realised I needed to think about other things for my mental health, to feel a bit more normal. I focused on other activities and I took time to see my friends more, to talk with people and have real conversations. It was a time to question myself, what I believed in, and what I wanted. It was a long road, but I think I came out on the other side a better person and more comfortable with who I was.”

On the topic of his time in Iceland, Petit adds, “I went to a 30 or 40 person town in a region called the Westfjords. I feel like I get more inspiration when I’m isolated. I can feel awkward when there are people around me when I’m composing or get too much feedback, so traveling to Iceland felt like the best way to get to focus.”

As for how his worldwide sessions can be sensed through Parachute as a whole, he adds, “When I’m listening to the whole album I can recognise which tracks come from a session in the United States and which tracks come from the Icelandic sessions. There are two main colours to be heard.”

A multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer, Petit Biscuit has converted his classically trained talents into critical acclaim over the course of his career. With a debut album, Presence, that charted worldwide in 2017, he’s also wowed audiences on the live circuit with performances at the likes of Coachella, Lollapalooza, and HARD, plus his own sold out headline tour dates around the world. 2019 saw the release of single, “We Were Young”, topping 40 million collective streams with a music video featuring gorgeous cinematic shots that track nostalgic dreams of longing and love. Petit Biscuit kicked off this summer with ‘I Leave Again’, a collaboration with longtime friend Shallou. The song and its lyric video captivated fans and tastemakers, speeding to 25 million global streams and receiving global support from the likes of triple j, SiriusXM Chill, and Virgin.

Other highlights of Petit Biscuit’s career include over 1 billion Spotify streams, being awarded best live performer at the NRJ DJ Awards 2018, a primetime national TV performance on the esteemed French music award ceremony Les Victoires de la Musique 2018, covering Phoenix’s “1901” on triple j’s essential Like A Version series.
